Great post ! My grandmother would tell me stories about Marcus Garvey when I was a child – and being a child I did not pay much attention but the stories and beliefs remained tucked away until I was older and could appreciate the lessons.

He had a profound influence on one part of my family and lots of Afro-Caribbean families. My great-uncle emigrated to West Africa from the Caribbean because of Garvey’s Back to Africa movement.
