It is devasting to hear about has happened to Haiti – their continued suffering through hurricanes, lack of money and food and now this just stacks so much misery on these Caribbean people. Here in Trinidad and Tobago our Government as well as the local arm of Red Cross and many private citizens have been rallying the collection of foodstuffs and other necessary supplies such as medicines and clothes – appeals have been made via the media and email.

Our prayers go out to them. Thank you for posting on such an important issue.

Why should we care? 1) As human beings we have a responsibility to one another; 2)Let us remember that in 1791 Haiti paved the way for all of us enslaved beings to be free. She showed us that freedom was possible within our lifetime. For that, we owe her a great amount of gratitude. What better way to say thank you than to help her in her time of need.
