The cynic in me however is forcing me to hold my real excitement for when either a dark skinned or natural haired Black woman can win. Regardless, it is still great to hear that Miss America is a Black woman this year. I did not get to watch the pagent but I am sure she did an outstanding job. I read the PBS article and I agree with the assessment/question they made at the end. I think the Miss America Pagent will always have an issue with diversity. Just in different ways.
