Hot weather is a constant where I live so I try to keep my skin glowing from the inside out by eating healthy and upping my fruit and vegetable intake during the hot weather. I do not like to wear much if any foundation and use moisturizer with SPF. My make-up routine is focused on my eyes and lips and I will Maria Barreda’s great tips. Thanks for introducing Maria to us!

You look gorgeous! Your makeup is the perfect balance of dramatic yet natural.

Please, I do have a question for Maria. My entire life, I have had insanely oily skin. I’m 51 and still see no sign of it lessening! I get some relief in the winter, only using moisterizer around my eyes and mouth even then. Thank God I manage to keep my acne in check using La Roche-Posay products (cleanser/toner/Effaclar-Duo). I use Peter Thomas Roth Clini-Matte primer sunscreen (finishing with his Instant Mineral 45 sunblock powder), Dinair air brush foundation, Tarte clay under-eye concealer, Iman oil-blotting powder, De-Slick setting spray.

*Whew*! ALL this and I look pretty good at first (people compliment my skin a lot) but I’m oily in minutes. It’s just that now my makeup stays a little better…but I’m still gleaming, even dripping if it’s really humid. Also, needless to say this regimine takes FOREVER!

How can I simplify this, and is there a better way to control the oil? People say “oh, you’re blessed, your skin will stay looking great as you age!” Well at this rate with no sign of it lessening, I’ll look fabulous by the time I’m collecting social security! I want to look good NOW! *sob*
