The 2016 documentary film I Am Not Your Negro is based on James Baldwin’s unfinished manuscript for Remember This House. As described by NPR, it “…was to be Baldwin’s personal reflection on the lives and assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Medgar Evers, all of whom he was close with.”

Using Baldwin’s own words, director Raoul Peck presents a documentary that is incendiary, undeniable, and urgent. I Am Not Your Negro reminds those who need to be reminded of Baldwin’s significance, and underscores that the lessons he taught us remain so very relevant on so many levels.
