Old Navy Steps Up Their Plus Size Game

by afrobella

Ugh, I hate when I’m caught sleeping on a clothing brand I’ve been following for a while! I wasn’t particularly impressed with some of Old Navy’s women’s plus stuff earlier this season. I looked away for a little too long. Just yesterday I was amazed and astounded to see some wearable, fly designs on Old Navy’s plus size site. Lots of change here! Good change! I see you, Old Navy, stepping your plus size game up for Fall 2010!

There’s a new category, Marita Loves, which features picks by their Women’s Plus design director. Well HEY Marita! I am seeing some definite MUST HAVES in the new arrivals category! Here are my top picks from the new stuff at Old Navy Women’s Plus!

The Women’s Plus leather motorcycle jacket you see up above is CALLING MY NAME. A wide shawl collar and a slouchy silhouette give this jacket the clean yet edgy lines I LOVE. Items like this make me frustrated the Women’s Plus items aren’t in store at Old Navy. I want to touch and try this on before I shell out my $199!

The Women’s Plus Fleece Moto Jacket is a way cheaper and equally chic alternative. Asymmetrical zipper and wide collar + dark heather gray fleece make this one an instant WIN for Fall! $39.50? Get in my cart already!

Let’s face it, this dress belongs in my closet! The Women’s Plus Metal-Studded Sweater Dress could be the sweater dress of my dreams…but I need to try it on first. And I need to see what it’d look like with a belt and/or leggings. It’s a bit steep at $59.50, IMO. But this could be a big winner though!

There is something very elegant and Michelle Obama-esque about this Women’s Plus embellished cardigan. In the unique color of Golden Olive, I’d definitely rock this on a date night.

There are some great new tops with studs or other metal details happening at Old Navy, and this embroidered metal stud top manages to be both feminine and funky. I’d definitely rock that with a pair of jeans and the aforementioned motorcycle jacket.

I’m feeling the new styles! What are your faves from the new hotness in Old Navy’s Women’s Plus department?

    i LOVE that dress,
    and both the jackets.
    the prices?
    not so much.
    i think that’s why i go towards
faith 21 and h&m so much.
    extra cute
    AND cheap.
    even with asos,
    if it’s a bit pricier,
you know the fit is uber flattering
and the look will be unique.

    with old navy?
    again,
    not so much…

I am glad to see them giving us more options. I just wish these items were sold in the store instead of only online.

I like the stuff, but I refuse to buy from them until they realize that I need to TRY THINGS ON. Put the clothes in the stores!

OMG! I love the fleece jacket. Actually almost all my wonderfully chic winter jackets are from Old Navy. I just lost a lot of weight so I only wear 1X if the item runs small, but boy are these items exciting. I just ordered the twill moto jacket and it was amazingly cute fall jacket! I am so addicted to Old Navy…don’t sleep on them girl, they just get better and better!

I’m sorry, but that’s waaaay too much money for Old Navy. Though I love their stuff, the quality isn’t great.

The following time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to read, but I actually thought youd have something fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you can repair for those who werent too busy searching for attention.

You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation however I find this matter to be really one
thing that I feel I’d never understand. It
kind of feels too complicated and very extensive for me. I am having a look
ahead on your subsequent publish, I will attempt to get the cling of it!
