The Most Popular Signature Fragrances. What’s Your Favorite?

by afrobella

This time of year always makes me crave a new fragrance. The weather’s cooled down and I’m less likely to be sweaty – now’s the time when a new perfume can truly last and linger on my skin. There’s something cozy and sensual about smelling my scarf or the inside of my coat, fragrant with my latest perfume acquisition. My latest favorite is Si by Giorgio Armani, it’s so warm and elegant and luxe. My friend Annie AKA Blogdorf Goodman, described it like this: “Very pretty jasmine note. The drydown is very snuggly.” Well that’s ME to a tee. It’s the kind of fragrance that melds so perfectly to my skin that it just smells like…me. It’s become an instant signature.

My new obsession with Si made me think back to my previous signature fragrances. What makes a perfume YOUR scent of choice, the one that feels most like you? My first “signature scent” was Vanilla Fields. I wore that all through high school. Nowadays I have a few that I rotate between — Agent Provocateur, Coach Love,  Estee Lauder’s Modern Muse and Chanel No 5 for super special grown and sexy occasions.

My mother always has had signature scents — right now she’s obsessed with Vanitas by Versace (which I believe has been discontinued). Her other favorites are Paris by YSL and Ysatis by Givenchy.

The Most Popular Signature Fragrances

I had to ask my Facebook family and my Twitter friends what their signature fragrances are, and the responses were overwhelming and fascinating. Click here to see the Facebook responses, click here to see the tweets! Here are the 11 most popular signature fragrances, according to Afrobella readers:

Flowerbomb

Daisy- Marc Jacobs

J’adore by Dior

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

Egyptian Musk Oil

Narciso Rodriguez for her

Amazing Grace by Philosophy

Jo Malone – special shout out to the Wood Sage & Sea Salt cologne, as well as Peony and Blush Suede

Tom Ford Black Orchid

Euphoria by Calvin Klein

Kenzo Amour.

What are the overarching characteristics of all of those perfumes? It seems like we all love a white floral top note and a hint of musk.

I got such great responses and learned about a few fragrances I want to try — next on my list are Oud Cashmere by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and CLEARLY I need to finally get a bottle of Flowerbomb in my life, it was by far the most mentioned favorite!

See any of your favorites on this list? Any you plan to add to your Christmas list? What’s your favorite signature scent?
