Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair How To’s

by afrobella

On the last episode of Afrobella Radio I interviewed stylist Marcia Hamilton, who was on the verge of releasing something big. But couldn’t quite talk about it yet.

Well now Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair video is out and the world is LOVING the song and Marcia’s crazy amazing hairstyles!

I just got the inside scoop on the products used to create the amazing styles, and some of them are products that have been used in my hair too!

For the super long braids dipped in paint in the beginning, Marcia used White Sands Orchids Oil on Willow’s hair to add shine and make braiding easy.

For the “Heart Hawk,” Marcia “wrapped the braids around a pre-made wire shaped heart and secured with lots of glue. To finish, she sprayed this funky one of a kind design with IT&LY HAIRFASHION’S Purity Design Pure Definition Hairspray.”

When she made the faux hawk, Marcia hand colored clip in hair extensions with bright colors using IT&LY’s Colorly Xtreme Colors, and for the “Cotton Candy Dream” hair (which Willow has described as her favorite!) Marcia used IT&LY HAIRFASHIONS Colorly Xtreme and Colorly Hair Color to the hairpieces, and held the shapes in place with White Sands Stuck Up Mega Hold Hairspray.

And there you have it. I’ve had IT&LY Hairfashion haircolor before you might remember, and the White Sands Orchids Oil smells like floral hair heaven – I featured it on BVHairTalk a while ago. If you’re looking for a product to add shine and gloss and make your hair smell like a field of awesomeness, check it out.

Do you LOVE Whip My Hair? What’s your favorite look? I love the heart hawk, so audacious! Can’t wait to see what Marcia does for Willow’s next video!

I loved this video. I loved the creativity of it and more importantly the age approproiteness of the song and dress. They do not have Willow looking like a a premature hooker.

She looks like a kid who is enjoying being a kid. She seems to be comfortable and content in her own skin. God bless Jada and may she keep showing her daughter the way.

I’m probably going to be very unpopular by saying this seeing that this song is the second coming of “I will Survive”. I can respect Will Smith because of where he came from how he started in entertainment and how he evolved over the years to his level of prominence, but i cannot respect this . In interviews he talk about hard work and mastering craft, while He has his ego inflated kids playing around the entertainment industry. Just because Will is talented, (and maybe Jada) that somehow their kids are gold and can bypass any type of long term development. I find it to be some new collective elitist mentality. Its like the toilet training phase of being a toddler and applauding the success of a defecation in its rightful place. But that kind of praise should not go beyond that.
This is an example of how quality of art and music as a culture and society is dwindling, because popular artists are all posture and no substance. Micheal Jackson was the exception at 5years old and not the rule.

I don’t know if it’s just me or if everyone else encountering issues with your blog.
It appears as if some of the written text within your content
are running off the screen. Can someone else please
provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too?
This could be a issue with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen before.
    Kudos
