2010 has been quite a year. Through the ups and downs, you’ve stuck by me and I am thankful for every one of you! To celebrate 4 years of Afrobella, my site being back up and running, happiness and health – I’m giving you 12 Days of Giveaways!
On the 4th day of giveaways, Afrobella gave to me – 4 bottles of Marc Jacobs Lola Velvet!
Heady and sensual and just a little dark and brooding. That begins to describe my initial impression of Marc Jacobs Lola. It’s a dangerous floral, with notes of smooth vanilla, tonka bean and creamy musk. I kept fishing for a perfect way to describe the decadent scent, but my friend KarlaSugar said it best – it’s a very purple fragrance. And that explains everything, because purple has ALWAYS been my favorite color. I love how Lola makes me feel. When I spray this scent on my body, I feel womanly. Sexy. Mysterious. Well done, Mr. Jacobs, well done!

I have a black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and bright red suede Kathryn Amberleigh pumps, my naki muli bangles and my signature Afro pick earrings and hair as big as I can get it.
Absolutely nothing!!! It sounds too sexy to be confined to clothes…LOL

The bottle reminds me of my favorite knit purple dress from last winter. I’d wear that.
Lola!!! I always pass it by in the store, but can never buy it (broke college girl lol). I would rock the Lola scent with a baaaaaaaaad wrap dress (a deep blue or funky purple), a chunky necklace and earrings. I’d top it off with silver platform heels and i’d twist my fro into some cute lil twists!
Nothing! It seems perfect for a round of morning, afternoon or evening delight…lbvs.
I see a red, one shoulder side rouched dress with big curly hair, red lips and killer black sequined stilletos….woo hoo, count me in
a sexy little black dress, signature necklace, big curly hair, and a swarovski chic ring. yes ma’am!
I will wear my black leggings, grey/multitcolored oversized sweater vest and white long sleeve shirt with my black knee hi boots.
Wow. I am a BUMhemian so I don’t know if I have anything especially interesting but I just inherited a vintage sequined sweater. It looks great on my rotundas frame. A wonderful pair of washed jeans and black knee high boots. Gold hoop earrings, my gold “she-ra” bracelet and a soft, low side ponytail (I know you didn’t ask for hair but you know). LOL
I would wear a nice pair of jeans with boots and a dressy cardigan!
A short silver silk number I saw on modcloth sounds like it would go perfect with this scent. And of course some sky high pumps.

I’ve had the pleasure of smelling this in the store! I think I’d wear grey wide-leg trouser-slacks with a ruffled pastel-colored blouse, and royal purple pumps. That’s classy and sexy to me 🙂
I’d wear it with a gold sequined two piece sweater knit with a cowl collar that I have, and love wearing to special occasions during the holidays.

I would wear a fitted blazer that has matching pants with a sheer blouse underneath with lace underthings. I would also put on sky high heels with a hat and big hair. I would take all the attention in the room with my bold wardrobe and new fragrance, and I’d want you to see every inch of me.

I’m planning a “no-special-day” surprise romantic evening for my hubby, and I think Lola yearns to be worn with sensual loungewear. Not the frilly, fizzy, hot young thing stuff, but the sophisticated, grown up, in full control of making you holler look. My perfectly drapey, grey silk harem shorts and purple silk top with strategic sheer panels and obi self belt should be just the thing with the scent on my inner elbows, collarbone and nape of my neck.
I’d wear a cute flirty sleeveless purple jumper with some 5′ inch strap up stilleto heels in either black or a colorful opage of colors. A cute necklace to compliment the shoes and a cute clutch purse. Hair: up in a curly do ofcourse and some cute earrings.
A little black dress, you can never go wrong with that, the easier to take off the better, lol…
Just based off of the description of the scent this calls for the ultimate suede pump (basic leather just wouldn’t do), with a basic yet fabulous black dress, purple tights (mainly for a splash of color), and some simple jewelry (well maybe a little bauble ring to feel regal).
Lola sounds like just what I need. Purple is fastly becoming one of my favorite colors. I would wear Marc Jacobs Lola with something off the shoulder and thigh high.

I’ve had my eye on this fragrance for a while. My signature is Calvin Klein’s Euphoria. People stop me to tell me how nice I smell when I wear it. I’m in need of a re-up so that’s what Santa is bringing me this year.
Last year, when I was buying myself a new fragrance, it was between Lola, Daisy and Vera Wang’s Rock Princess. Vera won but Lola or Daisy was next on my list.
I would pair Lola with something else I’ve long lusted over, the Monif C long convertible dress in Pumpkin Spice, Red, or Purple (you know what I’m talking bout Bella!) I pray that I look half as good in it as Jill Scott did in that Essence spread. At least I will smell as good as she looked!

Yes, Lola oozes purple. And as purple unites the wisdom of blue with the love of red, I’d wear Lola with a navy silk charmeuse dress and a sensational red feather in my hair.
I’d wear Lola with a Lola-esque outfit, of course… Young and trendy, but very sexy. Probably a knee length banded dress (in black) that hugs all of my curves!!!

I’d pair Lola Velvet with my new favorite dress. It’s a very soft,purple cashmere wrap. A “Purple” Fragrance calls for a purple dress.
I just bought some black overtheknee velvet boots last week. I would pair those with some tights and a long cardigan that I bought on sale at Marshall’s that has gold flower like sequins on the shoulders. Perfects for a nice dinner with the hubs!

I will wear a short, sexy dress that hugs my figure, something tight but still classy, killer shoes and some shimmery/glimmer make up. Gold would probably be the color theme, for my dress or make or my accessories. I will also pull up my hair in a sexy bun. Basically, a dress that makes me feel beautiful, feminine and sexy!

I would wear a woman’s tuxedo. I would wear a purple corset top under the tuxedo jacket and some purple stilettos for that POP of purple! I like outfits that are different but can still be sexy and feminine.
I would wear a cream and black dress (cream top, with black skirt), that has roses around the collarbone done in the cream color, in silk. I think it would be very feminine, but combined with some dark black liner, studded black heels and my newly died black hair, could also have an edge. A perfect compliment to Marc Jacobs Lola. Laid across my bed a midnight purple satin gown full length ruffle neckline plunging just beneath my breast. As I turn I admire the back dangerously plunging towards the curve of my back I smile as Lola begins to caress the back of my ears, anoints my décolleté then gently kisses the curve of my back. I would wear a vintage inspired lace black dress with purple accents throughout the dress. It would be on of those off the shoulder numbers with long sleeves. The dress would hit right above the knee. I’d pair it with a pearl necklace, my RLT pearl bracelet with red accent, and some simple black heels with some gold trim.

Oooh…such a sensual sounding fragrance! My first thought is to go with the LBD, but you know what? This would be perfect to de-frumpify a simple concert outfit of jeans, heels, and blouse with big hair and earrings and accessories…just a little bit to add that air of intrigue and mystery to the evening. Look like a rock star, smell like a diva…sounds about right to me.

I love those kinds of perfumes. The kinds that make you feel womanly and dangerous. I think that’s my whole style. I would probably wear a red sequin gown. Low neck line with an open back. No split and very form fitting. I would also wear my hair in a short bob with the smokey eye.

I would wear my black wide leg wool pants with a purple off the shoulder sweater. My hair would be a chunky twist out fro and I have a leather purple flower that I would pin on the side. My make-up would be fierce, probably purple and green eye shadow and then I would close the look with MJ LOLA on my shoulder and pulse points!

Mmmm… I was recently admiring this scent at a perfume counter in the mall. With a scent like this one, I would wear a slim fitting, yet oh-so-comfortable, black mini dress, patterned tights, and edgy and fun, studded pumps. Mommy by day… sexy thing by night. A cute purple clutch will add a bit of color 🙂
