Final Final Creme of Nature Giveaway!

by afrobella

Bellas, it’s my Wednesday deadline for work and this week is especially rushed because… I’m going to Chicago tomorrow! I LOVE Chicago!! That’s where my in-laws are from and we’ll be celebrating my mother in law’s birthday all around downtown. So if you see someone who looks like me happily wandering around downtown Chi-town this weekend, come on up and say hello! Hopefully it will be me and not some smiling stranger with extra large hair.

Because of my trip + work responsibilities before I leave, I don’t have time to cook up a great post this morning. What I do have time to do, is to FINALLY wrap up this ongoing Creme of Nature giveaway. Y’see, when the first one went so wrong, the good people at Creme of Nature REALLY wanted to set things right. We got packages to the original ten winners, then had a 25 person gift set giveaway. And finally now, to wrap things up, here’s a final phase with a smaller sample size giveaway of their latest products. It’s the Creme of Nature 100 person give-a-way!

I get overwhelmed with one regular day of e mails and comments, so you know this had to be sorted out some other way. Lucky me, the cool Creme of Nature peeps set up a special e mail address for you. All you need to do is send an e mail with the subject line “Afrobella giveaway” to Cremeofnature@noelle-elaine.com. Don’t forget to include your name and your mailing address. The first 100 e mails will be chosen as winners. There’s a one month time limit on the contest, so get to e mailing!

Whew! Now that the Creme of Nature situation is completely resolved, this bella can move on. I’m working on some special NEW giveaways for my Afrobella anniversary in August, so keep reading and keep entering! And don’t forget, you can’t win this giveaway by leaving me a comment here — you gotta e mail Cremeofnature@noelle-elaine.com!

EDITED @ 2:20 p.m. — OK, that was the fastest giveaway EVER! I just got an e mail from my Creme of Nature friend that she’s gotten over 100 e mails ALREADY! And she thought this would last a whole month, LOL. So if you missed out in the not-even-a-half-day giveaway frenzy, I apologize. Keep reading for more, I got big plans for August in store!

Hey Afrobella! I live in CHI! I may come downtown this wknd just to c if I’d get to run across you lol.

My favorite restaurant downtown is Grand Lux, Michigan Ave & Ontario I think. Has a wonderful view of Mich Ave. Right across the street from it is Heaven on Seven (think the address is 600 N. Mich, it’s on the lower level of the movie theater). Absolutely awesome if you love Creole type food. And you can’t beat the decor. Above all tho, the food is stellar great service too. If you’re looking for more Chicago eccentric type, go for heaven on seven. Grand Lux is great (wonderful food great decor beautiful view) but it’s a Cheesecake Factory chain restaurant. Oh yeah Weber Grill (539 N. State, intersection is State & Grand) has phenomenal food. Also more of a Chicago restaurant. But Bella there’s so many places to eat!!!

I am a HUGE foodie so I could go on forever. But I’ll leave it at those three. Put websites for all below

    http://www.grandluxcafe.com/locations.htm
    http://www.heavenonseven.com/rush.html
    http://www.webergrillrestaurant.com/menus/dinner.html

I hope you have a wonderful trip. If you have any questions or need any assistance with anything while you’re here just send me an email. Wish I could meet you! Have fun :->

Have fun in Chicago!! I’m stuck in downstate Illinois for another few weeks, and then I’ll be home (sweet home, Chicago!!)!. You should try Blu 47 on South King Drive, or Carnivale on West Fulton if you have the time. Excellent food. Thanks for the new giveaway!

I’m a sister who is born and raised in Chi-Town. Here are some suggestions:

Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles
Location: Bronzeville area (15 minutes south of downtown)
Cuisine: Soul food, slamming fried chicken, awesome waffles

    The Bongo Room
Location: On the North side (15 min northwest of downtown)
    Cuisine: Incredible breakfast/brunch place

    Carmines and Rosebud
    Location: Downtown
Cuisine: both places have great Italian

    Cafe Iberico
    Location: Downtown
Cuisine: Spanish Tapas–not to be misssed!

    Have a great time!

Welcome back to the Chi!! If your going to some fab event you should share 🙂

As for the food I totally second on the Cafe Ibercio, 739 N LaSalle.

    I adore Dixies Kitchen 5225 S Harper, and Park 52 5201 S Harper.

If you find your self in the NW suburbs ask if you are next to Bob Chinns, 393 S Milwaukee Ave, Wheeling, IL or Pappa Deaux’s 798 W Algonquin Rd, Arlington Hts, IL.

Bob Chinn’s is my all time favorite restuarant here even though it is out in the burbs. Also to get fun ideas my fav in the know site for Chicago is Time Out Chicago http://www.timeout.com/chicago/

    Hey Bella!
I live in Chicago. I don’t have a suggestion for any restaurants, but there is a shoe store you should definitely check out. It’s Downtown on State Street and Adams and it’s called AKIRA. I think you would like some of the things they have to offer. Maybe I’ll see you in there when I’m shopping this weekend 🙂

I cosign on Cafe Iberico-amazing sangria! There’s a Bongo Room downtown on Roosevelt and Wabash (on the corner). If you head next door to Yang, you can get a boba fresh fruit smoothie for around $4 to keep you cool. Carnivale is excellent–they have a steak dish that is mind-blowing and their drinks are superb. For brunch, there are 2 fabulous places I take all my out-of-towners. Yolk, south on Michigan Avenue 1/2 block north of Roosevelt and Sweet Maple Cafe on Taylor St. 1/2 block east of Loomis for the most amazing biscuits(and everything) you’ll ever eat in your life.

For Chicago staples like our pizza, italian beef sandwiches and hot dogs, go to Giordano’s (Rush St. & Superior), Al’s #1 (Ontario and Wells) or Mr. Beef on Orleans (http://chicago.citysearch.com/roundup/39225/), and Portillo’s (Ohio & Clark), respectively.

For beauty shopping, there are 2 downtown Sephora locations, LUSH is in both downtown Macy’s and Bravco Beauty Center is at 43 E. Oak (just off Michigan Ave.). Enjoy your time here!
