I Ain’t Saying She’s a Gold Digger…

by afrobella

But this Barbie ain’t messing with no broke Ken dolls.

I kid the Milano Barbie; there are plenty of skankalicious blonde, white Barbie dolls. But I think this particular one looks like she would be rolling with this girlfriend, in this car, and heading out to the club to holla at this dude.

What I’m saying is, I wouldn’t buy her for my kids. But at $38.99, maybe she isn’t exactly a “playing” Barbie. She’s more of a collectible. (And a great addition to your “questionable Mattel” doll collection, along with Earring Magic Ken, Bling Bling Barbie, and Oreo Fun Barbie, who I mentioned earlier.)

Through the Crunk & Disorderly commenters network, I discovered this amazing page of black Barbies. If I had to buy one, I’d get Nichelle, the Urban Hipster. Check her out.

Homegirl don’t play! Which Barbie would you buy?

I love the chocolate Barbie, her skin tone is fierce and her fro. For the life of me, I never knew a Biggie doll was on the market. I’m searching for Ghostface’s now….
Julia, where are you? This is your area of expertise.

My inner child is drooling over that Barbie site. I can’t even imagine the amount of money my mother spent on these dolls; up until I was 11 I still had my Barbies. I think i would have kept on collecting but my mother thought it was time to stop the foolishness. She didn’t know that there were thousands of people out there collecting these dolls. I can’t imagine what mattle was thinking when they made an Oreo Barbie, yet alone a Bling Bling Barbie. With all the questions that are asked in reference to the Ken doll you would think that just once the would make a sterotypical macho Ken doll just to even the field but no the came up with Earring Magic Ken. I love all the dolls in thethe Byron Lars collection and the Think Pink Barbie is elegant & beautiful. The 45th anniversary Bob Mackie Barbie is just simply Fierce!

Ooohh.. no you don’t have the Nichelle doll up! That’s my old photo signature on my (Anovelist) blog. I’ve also got a Nichelle doll in my closet, but not the Urban Hipster. My “Nichelle” is a “Generation Girl” doll. My mother gave it to me for Christmas one year.

Nichelle, I bet the “Generation Girl” doll is just as fierce! Must be something special about women named Nichelle =)

Sadly, there are no Patrice dolls that I’ve been able to discover. Yet!

Hey y’all! I have Nichelle and she is every bit as gorgeous in person as she is in the photo. Sometimes Mattel will play you greasy by showing you a banging proto-type doll in the photo, but when you get the actual doll it’s not all that great. I don’t have Urban Hipster yet, hopefully she’ll be under the tree for Xmas this year. She’s gorgeous!

You think that people would buy your product if only they take the time to understand how it would revolutionise their life / office / clothing / kitchen.
