Cover Girl NYFW Makeover Giveaway!

by afrobella

I’ve used Cover Girl cosmetics. I like Cover Girl cosmetics. But never before did I feel TRANSFORMED by Cover Girl, than at the CVS Reinventing Beauty lounge, when makeup artist Jake Bailey sat me in his chair and worked his magic on me.

Me and Julia of All About The Pretty

Me and Julia of All About The Pretty

BAM!

Keep in mind, I’d already done my own face. But by the time Jake was done with me, I felt like a brand new woman.

Do you like? Here’s what he used:

Jake highlighted the apples of my cheeks with Cover Girl Simply Ageless blush #230 (or Lush Berry) – I was a bit apprehensive when he was putting it on. It seemed like A LOT of blush, but it photographed beautifully.

Then he went over my existing liner with Cover Girl’s Outlast Eyeliner in Indigo.

After that he used Cover Girl eyeshadow in Purple Pop, and WOW. Purple shadow with brown eyes FTW. Now there’s even more reason for it to be my favorite color.

On my lips, Jake used delicious Amazemints gloss in shade # 605, AKA Everything’s Rosy.

I was absolutely thrilled with my makeover, and Jake was so sweet and friendly and warm. He made me feel beautiful, and now it’s my turn to pay it forward!

TWO lucky Afrobella readers can win the four items Jake used in my Cover Girl makeover. All you have to do is tell me — do you have a favorite Cover Girl makeup item? If yes, what is it and why?

I’ll close these comments on Monday afternoon. And I’m about to make it rain with giveaways, so get ready! This will be an epic month!

Edited Monday 8:45 pm — Comments are CLOSED! I’ll choose winners at the end of this week!

Love the covergirl eyeshadows.. it was my way to experiment and learn what colors worked for me without breaking my pocket.. the quads and triples are PERFECT and they have staying power..

Hmm..I LOVE the Lash Blast mascara (in the orange tube) because it gives me incredile length and separates my out oof control eyelashes. I also like Perfect Blend pencil liner in basic black because it glides on smoothly and sometimes I use the smugde applicator for a smoky look.

My favorite Covergirl product is the Outlast Lipstain in Flirty Nude. It stays on forever, works great with my skin tone and is perfect under any lip gloss (or lipbalm when I’m less glamorous). It doesn’t feel cakey or tight on the lips– it is just like nothing is there. And when it does fade hours later? It fades evenly; no lip outlines or other strangeness.

I love Cover Girl Face Powder for everday use. It works great, comes in a variety of colors, it blends easily with my skin tone, does not cake or go on too heavy. The packaging is great, it comes in a durable flip open case and the powder puff is made of good quality cotton, so it does not fall apart. The powder is long lasting and has lasted me thru a full day out without coming off. For the price you get a nice sized compact case and a nice travel mirror is included in it. I like Cover Girl’s face powder and will use it for a while!

I’m a big Covergirl fan to bella. Their Toasted Almond is my exact skin color. I was so dissapointed when they discontinued it in certain lines (all the ones I used of course). But that’s not my favorite, I love the eyeshadow in dazzling metallics. One of the colors is an orange, which I use as a blush. I read in Iman’s the Beauty of Color that orange is a great color for brown skin, and I didn’t believe it at first, but I tried anyway and it really is true. In addition to being a great color, Covergirl’s dazzling metallics has just a little bit of shimmer, which I love. It just looks great.

My favorite item is the Lash Blast Luxe mascara. It is a great mascara because it elongate and thicken my short sparse lashes, making them the focal point of my face and I like that, especially for a night out. And it is on the lower end of mascara prices so that is nice too.

I love the Cover Girl Fruit Spritzers Lip Gloss. It provides a great gloss without that typical sticky feeling of others and it lasts forever. It has great kiss appeal!

I have used CoverGirl since I could remember! I remember longing to have rosy cheeks when I was a teenager and going to the local Winn Dixie (yes, I am from the country) to select my blush!! Oh the memories!! As I got older I started wearing more expensive makeup such as lines from MAC and Sephora, however, when the Queen Collection (Queen Latifah) came out, I was allllll too happy to use the brand endorsed by my idol!! Currently my favorite CoverGirl product is the Queen Collection mineral powder.

Forget the makeup – your hair looks fabulous!!!

Cover Girl? The AmazeMint glosses are just lovely; the hint of color with gloss makes my day.

After L’Oreal stopped making Le Grand Curl, I was faced with seaarching for a new mascara. My eyelashes are very long and thick but stick straight. I’ve found that I really like Cover Girl’s Lash Exact because although it doesn’t curl my lashes it does make them pop! The formula seperates my lashes to make them really stand out. Second to the that would be Cover Girl’s Exact Eyelights. I know many have not liked it but the brown eyes color makes my eyes sparkle.

I haven’t used Cover Girl since I was in high school and we won’t say how long that’s been. Back then it was the eyeliner and mascarra. But I’ve been reading some good things about their Lipstain and have been thinking about using that.

    Your makeover looks really nice.

I love the perfect point plus eyepencil in black onyx. it has a smudging tip on the end which is perfect for blending and making the eyeliner look more natural. It is the only eyeliner I use. It glides on smoothly and stays all day!

My favorite Covergirl product is Outlast lipstain. I love to “kill two birds with one stone” so to speak with makeup products. The lipstain looks great on my lips and I also use as cheek stain for a different look.

You look MAH-VALEOUS darling. Can normal people go to FW you looked like you had soo much fun, I might want to try to crash since I live in NY. I see that I am among the cult following of lashblast in the orange tube. One a side note It is actually available at Costco in a 3 pack for like 9 bucks for the bella on a budget. I share the 3-pack with two friends so its like $3 each :D.

I like their new “Bright Eyes” collection. I use the one for hazel eyes, even though my eyes are brown. This is the palette on Rihanna in the ads. So gorgeous!

Hello!! My favorite covergirl products are definitely their Lipglosses which are very budget friendly. I adore Covergirl Amazemint lipgloss in Plum Crazy. The color is a nice pink with lots of SHINE minus the stickiness.

I love the lashblast mascara! I also really like the eyeshadows. I typically purchase MAC shadows b/c of the color payoff and staying power; however, I found that many of the covergirl shadows are also very rich in color and look good on brown bellas! 😉
