Bellas! At the beginning of this year, I made some resolutions. One of them was to be a braver blogger. That means pushing myself to do new things to add dimension to everything Afrobella. So I present to you – my first YouTube haul video! Where’d I go? Marshalls!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5mPDXLjX_Y

I will try my best to find links for the items I shared. I would love to hear your feedback – should I keep the videos coming? I’m thinking of doing hair, makeup, home decor, food…the sky’s the limit!

Click here to subscribe to my YouTube channel, I Am Afrobella so you’ll always see my videos first!

Hey there. I love that I’m hearing your voice. 🙂 Too cute. Proud that you’re Trini too. Also, that BCBG top will look great with white jeans with a pair of hot wedges. Love this blog!!!

The blush question is from Kweenie for Bella. Didn’t mean to use your name. 🙁

I have another question to add on to it:

What did you use in your hair to define the curls here, because it looks great!

I too am a Marshalls and TJ Maxxinista. Always walk out with a fab find. Good job on your first video.

LOVED IT!! You looked great in the video and I feel you completely on Marshall’s and shopping alone. I have only one piece of feedback. If possible, adjust the camera and hang the clothes up so that we can see them full-length. Even better than that would be for you to model them! You come across as very modest, so that might be a stretch for you, but have you seen Kimmay’s Youtube fashion shows? I think they’re fabulous. But I haven’t seen anything like that from a curvy woman, and I really think you have the energy, charm and personality to pull it off and make it approachable. It really helps to see how the clothes fit/hang and see how you make that bright green dress work or how you’d rock a particular shoe/boot/accessory. In any case, I know your channel will be a huge success, and I’m looking forward to more videos from you.

Luv the video! First of all you are gorgeous! I agree with the other post-great makeup and hair. Cant wait for your hair and makeup video!

I tend to only buy accessories and household items at TJ and Marshalls. Primarily due to the limited plus size selections in the NorthWest stores.

Your video encouraged me to give it another try. Iam addicted to beautiful colors & fabrics. The feel of a garment means as much as the style for me. So, I tend to buy high end items-at bargain prices. I shop alot on line (I search for designers that I find offer a better fit for my body type. I think the key is finding clothes for your body type and personality.)

I would love for you to do a video on designers that offer quality plus size chic clothes. Also, an interview with buyers. I am frustrated that some designer will offer beautiful colors/style in smaller sizes. Then offer the ugliest color combinations in the same style in plus sizes. A buyer told me that they tend to buy for the culture of that particular city. And fabric cost too much for plus size-so it limits what is offered. Thats crap.

Well keep up the good work! Keep the videos coming!

By the way, has anyone ever mentioned that your alluring eyes & smile rermind them of Janet Jackson’s? 🙂

I think that your video is a great touch. And you are absolutely right, the Marshall off of North Michigan is the better one in the loop for women’s clothing. I’ve got to get over there to add pieces to my wardrobe as well.

Just want you to know that you are appreciated. Love your blog and the information you provide!!!!!

For the NW person – are you in Seatte Washington or another location? There’s a Marshalls in Edmonds that sometimes has decent things. I love Marshalls, Ross and TJMaxx to but I never ceased to be amazed at the difference in plus size merch from store to store – some stores have NOTHING and others have great brands and selections -sometimes the out of the way ones have the best stuff. Bella, you are one gorgeous girl, and I -like others – am very very interested in your hair regime -your do looks the way I want mine to look but it seldom does! HELP! And keep up the wonderful blog.

Really nice job, Bella! It’s definitely time to take your place in front of the camera.

Marshalls and its more sophisticated sister TJ Maxx have been the answer to my wanna-be-fabulous-but-challenged-by-bank-account woes. As many of you know, everything arrives at these stores at at least 50% off. And when things are marked down, one can easily snag deals at 75%-90% off retail. If you shop these stores on the regular, you’re bound to find deeply discounted treasures “on clearance.”

Ladies, don’t fail to check out my fave shopping experience…Runway at the Maxx at select TJ Maxx stores. This boutique-style, store-within-a-store features high-end designer clothing and accessories. Runway sells lines like See by Chloe, Prada, Gucci, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Valentino, and more accessible fashions from the likes of Vince, La ROK, Rebecca Taylor, Alice & Olivia, Hudson, and Catherine Malandrino.

I recently purchased 4 pairs of Proenza Schouler shades at the Runway at my local Philly-area store, and one pair was only (drum roll, please)……………….$5.

(Check out TJ Maxx’s online store locator to see if your local store has Runway at the Maxx.)

Some TJ Maxx stores also sell off-price fine jewelry from Roberto Coin, Judith Ripka, and Stephen Dweck.

    !!!Love me some TJMaxx!!!

As for my video interests, home decor and gift items would tickle my fancy (por favor).

Marshalls & TJ Maxx have the best home decor!!!!! For the affordable factor, I guess! It’s like shopping at a boutique furniture spot that no one knows about!!! I’ve received so many compliments on little pieces I’ve purchased there! For example, everytime some one comes to my desk, they immediately pick up my basket made out of magazine paper! They oooh and aaaah at my thumbs up statue, too!!!! I love it! Love it! Love it! Big city Marshalls and TJ Maxx-es are better for clothes and shoes. =(

My daughter normally does these types of videos on her blog and they seem to be fun.

Marshall’s is also one of my favorite stores and I just hauled off my share of clothing and shoes to add to my Summer wardrobe from them.

This year for shoes it’s all about embellishments and I found a great pair from Eli Tahari in bronze.

Tory Burch may have reintroduced the tunic back in fashion, but I found two beautiful cotton linen tunics from Carole Little that will go great with a pair of white jeans or a flowing skirt and they didn’t cost as much as hers does.

    Great post!
