During my interview with Jill Scott, she impressed me as a woman who can’t be reduced to a soundbite. Jill Scott gives a thoughtful, considered answer to every question you ask her. Excerpting one sentence or snipping a quote won’t work. When Jill responds to a question, there’s nothing flippant or offhanded about it.
When I first posted about this interview, I only shared a tidbit of Jill Scott’s wisdom, because I was waiting to unveil it all in time for her new album to drop. It was released on Tuesday (but as you know that was a crazy day for me)!
I had a chance to give some of her new songs a listen, and I LOVE what I’ve heard. Light Of The Sun is an instant classic IMO. The flow of the album is confessional and close. Honest. Raw. So real. Like Jill told me in our interview, “It’s grittier music because I’m stronger than I was before so I feel a certain level of power in my being.”

I have just published my first blog post about your lipglass. I’ve told you before on Twitter, but this is THE BEST lipglass I’ve ever worn. I love how it wears to a beautiful shiny plum stain. It looks great from when you put it on to when you take it off. I’m shouting from the rooftops, if you only take one lipglass to the proverbial deserted island, THIS IS THE ONE!!! I suspect you made it just for me. Indeed, this is the best lipglass I’ve ever used and I’ve used them all.
