Afrobella’s Nothing But Hair Favorites Giveaway!

by afrobella

Who’s ready for a giveaway? It’s been a minute, bellas!

Nothing But hair-care collection

It’s summer in Chicago, it’s insanely hot, and between the extreme temperatures and all the travel, my hair has been going THROUGH it. I couldn’t wait to get back from New Orleans and my Essence Music Fest adventures, to wash the Nawlins heat and humidity out of my hair with my full sized arsenal of  Nothing But hair care products. Nothing But made the EMF experience possible – click here to see my two previous posts, Nothing But Fun at Essence Music Fest, and Nothing But Natural Beauty!

Nothing But Hair Care is all about eliminating the ingredients that weigh your hair down and leave it looking unhealthy and lifeless. No petrolatum, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, colorants or phthalates. For the many naturalistas who are into good for you hair products with concerns about ingredients, Nothing But is what the game has been missing. Even their website is a breath of fresh air – every product comes with detailed breakdowns of the ingredients, explaining what each item does. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out almost all of the products and I’ve got some that are definite favorites. And five lucky Afrobella readers can win a prize pack of my favorites!

Let me break down which Nothing But products have been the best for my hair’s needs, and how I use them.

Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo

Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo

— My favorite. When my scalp feels grimy and my hair looks limp from heat and heavy products, this is my go-to. After all the humidity of New Orleans, this was the first product I yearned for to wash the weekend out of my hair. Cleansing without stripping your scalp of all moisture, this is a great shampoo for bellas looking for extra scalp TLC. I use it fortnightly, just for that deep clean my hair needs.

Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner

Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner

— OK so I hope by now you guys know that I’m not the one for any kind of intricate natural hairstyle. I pretty much let it do what it does and rock a wash and go on the daily. This is a product that people either love or hate, and for me it works best when used off label. I don’t use this for a wash and go as is, I use this in place of shampoo after working out, and then follow up with a heavy, thick conditioner, like the Intense Healing Mask.

Nothing But Intense Healing Mask

Nothing But Intense Healing Mask

— my hair requires regular deep conditioning, and this has been making my hair so happy this summer. I like the the consistency, it’s got a light and refreshing scent, and it makes detangling a breeze.

Nothing But Wake Up Spray

Nothing But Curl Wake Up Spray

— not everyone’s natural hair loves glycerine, but mine sure does! Glycerine based sprays help my hair retain moisture and especially with this summer heat, I NEED that. When my hair’s had it up to here with heat and humidity, the wake up spray helps to bring my bounce factor back to life.

Nothing But Pure Pudding

Nothing But Pure Pudding

— So many products are devoted to curls, but for some naturals, it isn’t about that. I’ve found that many products that tout their curl-enhancing properties don’t deliver as promised. Nothing But’s product is more devoted to retaining your hair’s moisture, and when I do twist my hair, I like this product for sealing .

Those are the products in my Nothing But Hair prize pack! How do you enter, how do you win?

Leave a comment right here telling me which product you want to try the most and why, and we’ll choose 5 winners! The contest will officially close on August 6. Good luck!!!!

Edited – and the comments are closed. Good luck, bellas!!

This contest is sponsored by Nothing But Hair products and prize fulfillment will be taken care of at their discretion. Contest is open to entries within the United States. Contestants must be over age 18.

That Cleansing Conditioner is calling my name! I’m all about a simple routine, and right now that’s a shampoo, leave-in and twist with shea butter. I could skip the leave in if I used this Cleansing Condish! Enter me, please!

  2. Niki

I’m excited to try the Curl Wake Up! I wear twists and twistouts often and right now I just use a little water with some oils I mix up to have “second day” hair. This product line sounds like it is concerned not only with style but with hair health!

    Hola Afrobella,

I am dying to try the Pure Pudding. Although I usually rock the “wash and go,” I find that since I like less frizz than more. And “puddings” have worked out well for me even when I don’t heavily style (ie twist or braid out) my hair. I am always looking for that perfect product that seals in moisture, because my hair is very, very dry. In a nutshell, the pudding looks like it would be perfect for me. Thanks for the consideration! Rock on, Bella!

I would so love to try the Cleansing Conditioner! I BC’d a month ago, and I currently wash-and-go every other day, it’s so hot in Chicago these days! I’ve started to notice that my hair is drying out more and more because I use shampoo every time, I’ve never co-washed before so winning this Cleansing Conditioner would really help me get started with co-washing. Thanks for your consideration and this awesome giveaway!

Intrigued by the Nothing But Wake Up Spray. Been looking for a way to add a little sheen to my twist out without using a lot of oil or grease … which leaves a greasy feel that I don’t like. My boyfriend also doesn’t like when my hair feels greasy. So, if this can deliver on a little shine and still feel “clean” that would be welcomed bonus!

  6. Deborah (@myaccesiblelife)

    at

Getting my hair clean or conditioning is never an issue it’s keeping it moisturized which is why I’d love to have all of this line but should I have to select just one it would be the Pudding for the moisture aspects that was written in the description area. Moisture just comes and goes in my hair no matter how much I think I’m adding moisture it feels depleted in under 48 hours.

I would like to try the Wake Up spray! Whenever I wash my hair, my curls pop and my hair is so moisturized. This usually only lasts a day. By the next day, my curls are flat and look dull. I would to try that product.

  8. Davina West

I would like to try the Wake Up Spray. My hair loves glycerin, and I need all the moisture I can get! Thanks!

The Nothing But Pudding is what I’d like to try. I’m trying to achieve a fierce twist out and nothing seems to work!

I would love the Nothing But Pure Pudding. I would like to use it for moisturizing and sealing. My hair is very dry and the ends are sometimes brittle. Two needs for my hair solved in one product.

  11. Daniele

I would really love to try the curl wake up spray the most. Like you I prefer to just wash my hair and go. However, I don’t have the time and energy to do my hair every day. I could really use an effective product to just spray on my curls to get that second day hair. The whole line seems promising and I hope I get to try it. thanks for consideration in the giveaway.

  12. Cheekie

    at

I’d love to try that Wake Up Spray! I’d love to have something quick in the morning to make my curls pop instead of having to do this long process of combining products step by step. Would be perfect for those morning rushes.

    Good day Bella!
Thanks for the inspirations and education of maintaining healthy hair that’s also fly. I am wearing color….a bright strawberry blonde; I know that I really shouldn’t, but I LOVE color! Needless to say, my hair it’s super thirsty and in need of a good moisturizing treatment. I would like to try the Nothing but Intense Healing Mask to see if it can quench my BABA(big azz blonde afro)!!!

  14. Leslie Battle Taylor

    Keep up the good work!!!

I’d love to try the curl wake up spray, I’m trying not to manipulate my hair every day. Something that I could use for a “spray and go ” would be great!

  16. Nia Smith

I would like to try the intense healing mask. My hair needs lots of moisture and I’m really looking for a good deep conditioner.

  17. Shanelle K

I would like to try the Intense Healing Mask. A lot of wash-and-go’s have left my hair feeling dry.

  18. Jeanean

    at

I have to be honest, I would love to see how these products would work on my hair. I don’t have long hair, just a short cut that I love in this Alabama heat. I often wonder how products that seem to be made for naturals with longer lengths will work on my short hair. I often feel a little left out of the hair party because so few items(if any?) are made for the few who proudly rock the short do’s. So please enter me.

  19. Jacquie

The cleansing shampoo and the pudding would be magic in my daughters hair!

  20. AmberChella

    at

I’d love to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask. Northern California summer weather has left my hair feeling dry. I’ve given up on using all products except for regular use of coconut oil and a little shea butter; along with an homemade banna/yogurt/honey mask. Anything to soften and revive my hair would be nice.

  21. Maven

    at

I would like to try the clarifying shampoo. A clarifying shampoo has been on my must-get list and this one sounds good. Between my wash and go’s and twist outs I feel like I need to remove ALL of the product. I’m also in Chicago and can relate regarding the unusually warm weather.

  22. Shameka

I would love to try the Wake Up Spray because I would love for my hair to have moisture and bounce! ~:-)

  23. Ekesha

I would love to try the Pure Pudding product. I love my natural curl pattern(s) and I’m looking for a great curl defining product to add to the rotation. But more importantly, I’m looking for a curl pudding that won’t dry out my little girlie’s curls 🙂

  24. Sarah S

I would love to try the Wake Up spray on my daughter. We are so often under time constraints in the morning it would great to have a product to bring some shine and bounce to her hair easily.

  25. Lydia

I would love to try the Curl Wake Up Spray. My hair loves glycerine and I love products that I can just spray and shake and go:-)

The hair mask because i try to conditon my colortreated hair all the time.

  27. nola707

I feel the need to wash out the heat and humidity every day because I live in New Orleans. In know I can’t use it everyday but I would love to try the Clarifying Shampoo.

  28. Nep.

    at

I would love to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask because I put my hair kinky twist for more about 2 months now, it will need a lengthy healing healing process once i take them down. And i think this deep conditioner will be perfect to revitalize my hair and restore all the moisture i possibly lost because truth be told i’ve been lazy taking care of my hair (especially my scalp) while in this protective style and have neglected it, i know shame on me!

  29. catherine

I live in North Carolina. Hot with very High humidity… HIGH! My apartment building is also next to a small creek which is low at this point so it smells.I feel the need to shampoo often. I do a co-wash so I would LOVE to try the Nothing But Cleansing Conditioner. My hair also drys out during the day and my style is usually flat the next day. The Curl Wake-Up Spray sounds like an awesome solution to this problem. I would like to try this line. Please consider me. Thank you.

  30. Erin M. B.

I would love the Nothing But Pure Pudding. I do a lot of twists now but I don’t have a very good wash and go product and this looks perfect!

  31. Hutch

Hello. I appreciate the breakdown you gave, the how-to use it info was great. I don’t know if my hair does or doesn’t like glycerin but it requires a lot to keep it moisturized so I’d like to try the Wake Up Spray.
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to pass the tweet on to my stylist.

    Hello Afrobella!!!!!

I would very much like to try the healing mask. Due to the fact that it is very hot where I live, my hair tends to dry out very quick after I leave the house in the morning. Normally at nights before I go to bed I would moisturize and seal but this seems not to be much of a help where retaining moisture throughout the day is concerned; my hair gets brittle and the ends break. Of course I do not believe this product will magically alleviate the problem totally but based on the reviews, curlies who experience the same problem as I do has somehow seen significant differences in their hair’s ability to retain moisture and because of this I would really like to try this product.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  33. MissMissy

    at

    Hi Bella!
The Curl Wake Up spray has certainly piqued my interest. Each night I take all the proper steps to preserve my twist out, only to awaken to a disheveled frizzy Missy (my hair’s alias). I would love to see whether this spray can give ol’ Missy a run for her money and shut her downnnnn-LOL!!

  34. Jonesha

    at

I would like to try the Wake Up Spray because my hair loves glycerin. I live in the South and the humidity is a mess here so the spray would be just the thing my hair needs to retain moisture this summer.

  35. Cosmolude

    at

I would like to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask. I’ve been looking for a new deep conditioner and haven’t been able to find anything I really like. I’ve been wearing out more (and more wash and go’s) so I need to pamper my hair more often.

  36. Ashley Nash

I’d like to try Nothing But Intense Healing Mask! The summer heat is chewing my hair up & spitting it out.

  37. Havilland

I want to try the Intense Healing Mask most because my hair is at its BEST after a good, even, thorough deep conditioning. Thanks!

I very anxious to try the pudding! Just like you most of curl enhancing gels and puddings I’ve tried don’t live up to their promises or my expectations. I’m hoping my search will be over when I try their products!

  39. KB

The intense healing mask is what I want to try. Since I have colored my hair, I have made it a practice of deep conditioning weekly to combat breakage and to keep my curls moisturized. I want to try some new products on it and I am in desperate need of a staple.

  40. ~Q~

The intense healing mask is calling my name! I’m a wash and wear girl and most times the detangling process is a painful chore! I would live something that makes it easier and also deep conditions my hair. I need this in my life!

  44. Angelica Jade

I would love to try the intense healing mask. While I wear my hair in its natural state in terms of texture and all that I love to dye my hair red which has taken quite a toll. I haven’t been able to find a deep conditioner that works for my hair especially since I have been dyeing it on the regular. They all look amazing though definitely will keep my eye out for the healing mask and shampoo if I don’t win this little giveaway. Good luck to y’all as well!

  45. Tietina

NOTHING BUT Pure Pudding is the product I’d love to try. I see that there is no petrolatum, minteral oil, sulfates, parabens, and other harmful, drying ingredients for my hair. My 3b/3c hair needs a product to define my coils and bring them out without me having to use all of the product. In other words, since the NOTHING BUT PURE PUDDING is a No-Crunch Curl & Coil Definer, it is just what I need to make my daily styling go by faster and still be able to emerge with freshly formed curls and coils!

  46. sheila Greene

I would love to try the Nothing buy Wake Up Spray. I have tried to mix products using glycerine to Wakeup my curls. This is a no brainer. All the right ingredients to make my curls pop and shine. Enter me please!

    Afrobella,

Being that I live here in Louisiana (20 minutes from New Orleans) I need ALL the products to deal with this heat and humidity! But if I have to chose one I would chose the Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo. I have to use a lot of products to tame this mane so it would be great to have a really good clarifying shampoo to help cleanse my hair without stripping it of all it’s moisture.

    Thanks

    Hey Afrobella!
    THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY!
I would LOVE to try the “Nothing But:Curl Wake Up Spray” and this is because I am an AVID WashnGo person and it is very hard to have more than one day hair due to the lack of products that can refresh my hair, also I have finally reached my one year mark and as my hair grows i want to be able to try new styles that last longer, so the Spray would benefit me greatly. Also I live in that crazy Chicago heat you mentioned lol, so I really need something to help me retain moisture in this crazy Chi-Town weather.

    Bella,
What an awesome site you have here. Just taking the wigs off and finally wearing my natural do, I am so new the transition…and so in love with it too.I really loving all of the products but since I must pick one it would be the Nothing But Pure Pudding-this product will not only seal my hairstyles but more importantly lock in the moisture my hair craves and needs. I find my hair to be very dry during this time of humidity.

    Thank for your kind consideration!

Ok Bella, I am a mom of three daughters with varying hair types and absolutly no hair knowledge or skills. Which confirms that God has a sense of humor. I have recently big chopped and I am trying to get the hang of this natural stuff. We suffer from dryness, breakage and dull hair, so which product will help.

Hi Bella! I’m in the Chicago area too and yes, what a summer we’ve had…so far! I would love to try the Nothing But Pure Pudding. I’ve been completely natural for 3 months now and do wash and go’s. I currently use a leave in conditioner and gel to style my hair. It has a crunch and I would love to do a wash and go without crunch.
    Thank you!

  86. Stephanie

Nothing But Pure Pudding because I am always looking for something to twist with that will hold my twist for more then three days. AT this point gel isn’t even doing the trick.

  87. RG

I would love to try the Nothing But Curl Spray. I love wash and gos, but I hate the drama of second day hair. It usually feels dry and frazzled. My hair loves glycerin too and I think this spray will give my hair the nourishment and moisture it needs to look and FEEL good on day two.

  88. Ang

Thanks for the opportunity to win! Nothing But Curl Wake Up Spray sounds promising. I would love to try this product because sometimes water alone just doesn’t wake up my twist-out. My hair loves what glycerin has to offer. It’s hot here in Maryland!

What a great contest! I would love to try the Nothing But Clarifying Shampoo. I am looking for a clarifying shampoo that will cleanse my salt and pepper twa without leaving my hair feeling like straw.

  91. Carolyn

Hey…I would love to try the Intense Healing Mask. I have been natural for almost 11 years and I have had Sister Locs for 3 years. When I began my natural hair journey there were not many products that catered to my texture (super kinky/curly) hair. It took me years and tons of trial and error before I found a core set of products that made a difference in my hair. Since locking my hair I have become somewhat lazy and I usually only spray my hair with water in the morning and go (I know bad, bad, bad) Since graduating and obtaining my Masters degree In May (Yaaaaay), I have been able to get my life back and am now able to refocus some attention on my hair…and i feel there is no better way to start fresh than with a nice rejuvenating deep treatment!!!

  92. Ayana

    at

I would LOVE to get my hands on the clarifying shampoo. I have tried so many products that claim to cleanse your scalp without stripping your hair and I have not found one. Some cut the buildup on your scalp, but leave your strands feeling like straw. It’s a catch 22…I need a cleans scalp, but my hair CRAVES the moisture. If this products can tackle both of my problems I will be a forever customer. I NEED this in my collection.

I’d really like to try the cleansing conditioner. I wash my kids hair a little more frequently than my own and I like the idea of using something conditioning and nourishing on their heads.

I am most interested in trying out the Intense Healing Mask as my hair tends to be on the drier side in the summer. The entire product line souns interesting. I’ve seen it in Sally’s Beauty and was pleased to see the price point was budget friendly which is important to a budget fashionista. Thanks for the giveaway.

I’m looking forward to using the curl bounce back spray. I live in the humid south not far from NOLA, and I have the worst time getting my curls back once they wilt. I don’t want to have to wash my hair too often just to get my curls back. I have a ton of hair so washing it is a lot of work. Once my curls droop nothing I do seems to bring them back.

I would love to try the clarifying shampoo as this is one thing that I haven’t done a tone of experimenting with since starting to care for my own natural hair a few months back. I do my best to be conscious of good for you ingredients and would love the opportunity to check this line out.

Hi Afrobella! First of all I would like to thank you for all of your amazing hair advice. If I could be so lucky, I would really like the intense healing mask. For my hair deep conditioning is one of the most important steps in my hair care regimen. I love that these products are natural, but as a college student, I find it difficult to afford natural products because they tend to be more expensive. I would appreciate the opportunity to enjoy a natural deep conditioner without spending a fortune. Thank you for your time.

    Hi Afrobella,

I stumbled on your site about a year ago while I was still relaxed and saved it in my mental rolladex. I’m glad I did, I love, love, love your site. It is wonderful to see a fellow trini showing the varied textures, skin tone and beauty that trinidad can offer. I never tried wearing my natural hair because it wasn’t like other women in my family that had an “acceptable curl”. It is ladies like yourself that make me proud to rock a coiler, kinkier and thicker texture of hair. Thank you. Wow, sorry I went on a rant. I would love to try the wake up spray, ever since my bc last november I have looked high and low for a refresher for the helmet hair I suffer in the morning. It would be awesome to win and also refresh. Thank you 🙂

I am most interested in trying the curling shampoo. I workout 5 days a week and am constantly active. I only wah my hair once a week and there is alot of buildup from sweat and other products that I use daily. This will help me maintain a healty scalp.

I want to try the shampoo. I’ve been natural for one year and try not to buy in to all the trends and advice, but as my hair changes I find that it’s getting dryer and dryer…. and I think it’s my shampoo. I’m ready to see if “sulfate-free” is all its hyped up to be (so I can stop putting leave-in conditioner on twice a day :/ )

Hands Down I would like to try all of these wonderful products. I am having alot of problems with my hair. I suffer from itchy, flaky hair that is extremely brittle. The one product that I could use the most would be the Intense Healing Mask because my hair definetely needs some intense healing. I have refrained from using curling irons in the last several months and are rocking braids to see if my hair csn restore itself. I have also been washing my hair with apple cider vinegar which has been working beautifully to my surprise. My hair is apart of who I am and I am fabolous so my hair has to reciprocate the fabolousness as well.

I’m itching to try the Pure Pudding because I am still experimenting with finding the right “leave-in” to master the wash-and-go. I realized that I need something to weigh my curls down so maybe this pudding might be the perfect product with my Ampro Gel to get my ideal wash and go.

    Hi Afrobella,
It would have to be the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask. Ever since I went natural i’ve tried my fair share of different deep conditioners to find something that would leave my hair feeling happy. Right now nothing beats my Trader Joe’s Nourish spa so i’m hoping that the Intense Healing Mask might top it. lol

I would love to try the intense healing mask because my hair has been like a difficult toddler lately. No matter what I do, it’s dry and tangled. I need some intense conditioning power to get it back to rights again. I’m at my wits end with my hair…. this close to just chopping it all off and starting over again. I’m hoping that maybe my hair will find something it’s been lacking in the Nothing But product line.

I enjoy your website very much, it’s very informative. I’ve been natural for a little over a year and my hair is very dry after shampooing. I would love to try every one of your products. I just love the way the products feel on my hair. If I were to choose, I would go for Nothing But’s Pure Pudding. My hair needs locked-in moisture living in Las Vegas, Nevada, otherwise it gets very dry and brittle. There are lots of other products that make your hair feel moist & look shiny, but dry out quickly or products that are so heavy your hair isn’t able to move naturally. I would love to win all of Nothing But’s products because I believe they would make my hair its best when used together!

Thank you for the opportunity to write about which product I want to try the most! I am excited to do so. I would like to try the Nothng But Intense Healing Mask. I really need help with strengthening and repairing my hair from this intense Southern heat. My hair has been damaged from the detangling process because the products I have used so far has not helped. My hair just breaks off so easily. My goal is to grow hair to the middle of my back within 5 years and I know that the Intense Healing mask would help me get there. I would love to see my ends healthy and strong for the first time in a few years!!!

I’m 15 and have been natural for about a year and a half now and I am a product junkie! I love trying new products and would love to try the hair mask. I’ve heard Nothing But good things about it! I would like to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask because my hair requires deep conditioning and even though I have found great products, I have not found the perfect deep conditioner yet. I have 4b/4c hair which gets dry extremely fast and deep conditioning regularly helps me maintain moisture.

I would love to try the Curl Wake Up Spray. My hair responds very well to glycerin. It makes my hair feel soft, moisturized, and enhances my curl pattern. I am very excited about the possible opportunity to try this product. Thank you!

I would love to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask because my hair requires frequent deep conditioning. Deep Conditioning my hair on a regular bases helps my hair retain moisture. I deep condition at least 1 a week to make sure my hair stays moisturized. Although I have been exposed to many good deep conditioners, I have yet to try the Nothing But Intense Healing Mask! I would love to try this product to see what it does for my hair! I have 4b/4c hair and as you all know type 4 hair is prone to breakage. If I don’t deep conditioner regularly, my hair tends to break off which is why I would love to try this giveaway. Thank you !

I would like to try the Healing Mask but I’m not picky. I’m loving my natural hair but its dry and I’ve made it a habit of pulling the knots out or yanking them with my fingers. I need something to moisturize my hair and make it more manageable.
