My Picks — 8 gifts Under $25 from Cost Plus World Market

There are plenty of stores I barely remember visiting for the first time. But I will never forget the first time I stepped into a Cost Plus World Market. I was absolutely amazed by the range, the character, the quality of stuff they had for sale. Furniture with style! Cool home décor and kitchen goods! So many awesome food items and snacks! That beer and wine section is excellent! TEA — OMG every kind of tea and all the syrups and super cute tea pots and tea cups. I could go on and on – haven’t even gotten to the jewelry and clothing section yet. Needless to say, World Market became one of my favorite places to shop and one of my absolutely Christmas shopping go-tos. I had a World Market within walking distance of my home for years and absolutely LOVED going there for last minute treats and goodies, or for bigger ticket items like rugs and furniture. When the World Market near me closed, I was honestly gutted. What kills me is that the store is STILL empty, which speaks to the exceedingly high, retail killing cost of rent in my area. ANYWAY, I no longer have a World Market nearby, which means I have to go across town to get my favorite teas, spices and torrone (my favorite holiday treat)!

World Market is the kind of store I can run into and quickly find awesome holiday gifts, plus the wrapping paper and gift tags to make for a truly memorable present. This year, I’m so happy to share that I’ve partnered with World Market to share my personal top picks of holiday gift ideas under $25, ranging from home décor to cool kitchen stuff and more! These are all the kinds of gifts that can add to your own house or buy for a friend, relative or loved one. Check it out!

Gold wire clip frame $19.99 – I discovered this item because I was looking for a chic way to display Christmas cards. It’s also perfect for jewelry, photographs, hair accessories — whatever you may want to show off in an easy wall hanging.

Maraca cocktail shaker $24.99 – I found this item because I’ve been looking for a screw-top cocktail shaker for a while. How fun is this? My husband loves making fun cocktails any time of year, so this is going to get a lot of use over here.

Maya Angelou book $9.99 – This is just a cute pocket guide of Maya Angelou quotes, a thoughtful little gift for anyone who appreciated Dr. Angelou’s wisdom and misses the sage advice she shared so freely. Each page is like an affirmation or guide.

World Market gift ideas under $25

Gold agate slice cheese set $16.99 – It just looks so much more luxurious and expensive than it is! I love the combination of agate slices and gold or copper for cool kitchen gear. This and a classic wood or marble cutting board and you’re almost ready for a cute cheese board cocktail party.

Lava stone mocaljelte $24.99 – There’s something so cool and compelling about a traditional mocaljelte, I always love when guacamole is made fresh and served in one. This is a heavy, substantial mortar and pestle set made with Indonesian lava stone. A great price for a showstopper of a kitchen gift.

Wooden cookbook holder $24.99 – Do you know a cookbook collector? This is the PERFECT gift for the loved one in your life who has a ton of cookbooks and doesn’t make use of them often enough. It’s just a beautiful carved wooden stand that works for your slender cookbooks or tablets, to keep you on track while you cook.

World Market gift ideas under $25

Everyday Instant Pot cookbook $24.99 – I’ve had my Instant Pot for two years now, HAD to get it. And then I realized it kinda intimidated me and I felt it was complicated and I don’t use it as much as I should. Enter this book, which aims to completely demystify the Instant Pot and make it the everyday appliance I want it to be! Some of these recipes look so easy and so delicious.

Hello Kitty mug $19.99 – If loving Hello Kitty is wrong, I don’t wanna be right. I’m not a hardcore Hello Kitty collector but I’ll take this opportunity to admit I still have a Sanrio ruler from primary school in my stationary collection. I grew up loving Hello Kitty. The 5 year old me would be obsessed with this mug! Nice and big for cocoa with marshmallows, for example.

Those are my top picks for gifts under $25 – there’s a LOT more to discover if you visit a World Market near you (and if you have one near you, I’m lowkey jealous)! They’re expanding more into bath and spa products and they have great accessories as well. And don’t sleep on their jewelry selection, some of it’s super cute! Let me know what your favorite pick is, which of these gift ideas do you want to give (or receive)?

Thank you for everything, World Market!

All the picks were great. Love the cookbook holder but mostly the Maya Angelou quotes book. I’m going to get one for me and my daughter I named after her

I also love various small trinkets that can complement the interior of the house or just serve as a nice gift. I recently found a good personal gift shop – https://www.personalisegiftsuk.co.uk/ and now I often order such things for holidays or birthdays

  1. 8 Gift Ideas for Introverts and Homebodies (Like Me) | Afrobella says:
    December 19, 2019 at 10:38 pm

[…] Through the years I’ve done enough quizzes and read enough books to know that I’m more of an introvert than an extrovert. Most of these points apply to me. I can try to tap into my extrovert side for events and such, but my general way of being is introversion and I’ve made my peace with it. I am happiest at home, with small groups of family or friends. Comfort matters, inner peace and a calm home environment are everything to me. If you know someone like me (or you’re one of my people) then you may love these gift ideas. There’s still time to get some of these orders in before Christmas! The Comfy — a product named so accurately! Maybe you first heard about it on Shark Tank. If you’re at all skeptical, I can tell you, it’s like wearing your favorite blanket. So plush and thick. Perfect for homebodies in winter climates. Ideal for couch naps. Lamo Serenity slippers — Lamo is an California footwear brand that specializes in plush, comfy moccasin type shoes. These Serenity slippers are fluffy and cozy with a nice tread so you can wear them outside (if you’re into that). Colonel Popper — I was so skeptical about this silicone popcorn popper but I honestly love this thing! This would have been perfect back in my office cubicle days. Just pop it into shape, add the lightest sprinkle of oil and your popcorn kernels to the bowl, cover it and put it in the microwave. Pop, pop, pop and there you have it. The perfect serving size of popcorn in a bowl with handles, ready to enjoy. Gurunanda essential oils — If you’re spending a lot of time at home or in your home office or safe place — whatever it is for you — you want your environment to smell great. I’m a big believer in aromatherapy and its ability to influence your mood or increase your ability to be calm and relaxed. I’m a fan of the Gurunanda brand in general, and this Whole Body Essential Oils set gives you specific oils to improve your health from your head to your feet. Lands’ End pajamas and monogrammed slippers — Lands End is such a venerable and respected brand for stuff like flannel, of course their pajamas are incredible! I recently got sent a pair and I’ve been living in them ever since. They came in such cute packaging with a ribbon. I also like that their clothes come in plus size, petite plus and tall plus. Their customized slippers are so plush and comfortable. A great gift idea for the person who has everything and likes to be comfy and cozy at home. Timber Ridge Folding Wagon — as a relatively introverted person who lives downtown, I have wanted one of these soft sided wagons for years. Why? Because it reduces my need to ask for help carrying stuff. It’s got big wheels to make it through sand for the beach or over rough, snowy sidewalks downtown. Plus it folds up nice and small for apartment dwellers. If you don’t have a car, this thing is a lifesaver. Soft Surroundings hug me cardi — If its coming from a store called Soft Surroundings, it needs to deliver and this cardigan sure does! It’s so plush and fluffy. It reminds me of those trendy teddy coats but in a softer, shaggier cardigan version. A solid cardi for lounging on the couch. A real journal — I just completed Glow, a journaling course by my friend Karen Waldron and it brought me back to a place of valuable introspection. Journaling rocks. It’s a way to look inside yourself, to examine your own history, to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of yourself and life. Real introverty stuff. I say treat yourself or your introvert/homebody friend to a beautiful journal for big dreams and intentions. World Market has these gorgeous ones with these embossed metal covers, just gorgeous!  And slightly over $25 which is why they didn’t make my World Market gift list. […]
