Missoni For Target. I Want!

by afrobella

I gotta hand it to Target, they know what creates buzz in the fashion world and they know how to keep their cash registers ringing. Unfortunately, they still don’t show plus sizes any love — the latest designer collaboration, Missoni for Target, is epic and amazing and just might change the designer collaboration game in terms of its scope….but it only offers clothing items that range from XS to XL and size 2 to 16. Womp.

I’m gonna have to put the pleated maxi skirt out of my mind, I guess. And those sweaters. And the maxi dress, too. But I’ll still be copping that poncho in XL, though – trust and believe.

For a glimpse at the fashion in the Missoni collection, check out Style Pantry.

Despite the clothing not being made for bellas like me, the Missoni collection for Target really is breathtaking. There are some truly lust-worthy items in the collection. For example!

Missoni for Target

This tote will retail for $34.99, and in the Missoni for Target lookbook, it’s styled with EVERYTHING. This could be the must-have affordable tote of the fall. And the clutch is super cute, and just $22.99!

Missoni for Target

You know I love my flats, and how cute are these??? $29.99, baby!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the range of hair accessories Missoni has designed for Target.

Missoni for Target

Satin headscarves for $14.99, headbands, $7.99.

Missoni for Target

The bobby pins! Love these! So cute. $6.99 a set.

For the home, I LOVE the espresso set. $39.99 and I can see multiple uses for all of these pieces. How cute would it be to have a tea party with these? There’s an array of very chic trays and platters in the collection.

I want this whole collection of barware. Martini glasses are $4.99, stemless wine glass $4.99, and the martini shaker $16.99.

Missoni for Target

As a frequent traveler, I was dying over the luggage. You won’t ever lose the Missoni for Target suitcase on the carousel! It’s $169.99, and the travel tote is $49.99.

Missoni for Target

And of course the bike is the piece de resistance. 3 speed ladies bike, $399.99. This could be the PERFECT replacement for my awesome Kona bike that got stolen. But I’d be afraid to ride it downtown and lock it anywhere, TBH.

This is just a fraction of the Missoni for Target collection, bellas. There’s menswear and home office storage and laptop sleeves and vases and frames! You really could trick your whole life out in Missoni stripes, if you’re so inclined. The collection will be available Sept. 13 through Oct. 22, 2011 at all Target stores and Target.com. And I have a feeling it’s all gonna go FAST.

See anything you love, need, and have to have? Tell me!

I’ll definitely cop the barware. I was just looking for martini glasses last week and couldn’t find anything I liked. These are so unique.

I guess you’ve gone Chevron print crazy??? I do adore the shoes and the hair clips. I would like the print on a shoulder bag.

The espresso set. I could see myself drinking out of those on a quiet weekend while reading my magazines….

I would love the luggage, but everyone who purchased from Target would have the same luggage!

LOOOVE! I am so getting the duvet cover and shams, and the girls clothes? Oh yeah! If there was ever an incentive for me to lose a few pounds just to fit into a certain line – it would be now!!! HOT!!!

I love the accessories and can’t wait to get my hands on them 🙂 I wish they had more shoes though – the look book only has the flats and a pair of pumps! Like the winter scarves and gloves too.

I love these picks!! However, I would like to propose fashionable plus sized ladies email Target merchandising when they offer fly clothes that are not made in our sizes.

I am 26 5’8 and a solid size 16. I love my shape and size (although I am changing my diet to show my health more love). I emailed merchandising at target.com when that fly Zac Posen pink and white polka dot dress was offered at Target this spring. (I was drolling over it!) But it was not offered for even a size 11 woman.I explained in my email, MY demographic (20 something educated fashionista, that would not be caught dead in Ashley Stewart or Lane Bryant fashion) expect the same fly designs Target offers in other sizes. But thier plus sized section is laughable. I respectfully but confidently explained, since Target was not delivering edgy and fun designs in plus sized swimsuits (or anything else the smaller sized section had)…I paid $140 for a MonifC Suit…$140 that could have been spent at one of thier Target stores. Don’t get me wrong, I love Target and I usually do fit into thier size XXL clothing. But when stores we love do not cater to our sizes, I don’t think we should simply accept it and instead buy the great accessories if we want things to change.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one lol! I just set a reminder for 9/13 in my phone & thought I’ve gone too far w/my Target obsession. Too bad the 13th isn’t on a Thursday. I go every Thursday for what I call $3 Thursdays & try to only pay $3 or less for everything. I’m a sicko!
