How Does Naomi Campbell Do It?

by afrobella

…and by “it,” I mean look so agelessly gorgeous!

Naomi Campbell Duran Duran Girl Panic video

Naomi Campbell, from the Duran Duran Girl Panic video teaser

This year she celebrated her 41st birthday and got possibly the most jaw droppingly incredible birthday present of all time — a house in the shape of the Eye of Horus. AMAZING.

I’ve been an admirer of Naomi Campbell even before I was aware of who she was — fun fact, Naomi was one of the children in Bob Marley’s video for Is This Love? and when I was little I thought that was the COOLEST VIDEO EVER.

We’ve watched her beauty blossom and now, at age 41, Naomi Campbell looks as incredible as ever. Check her out as “Simon Le Bon” in a teaser for the brand new Duran Duran video for “Girl Panic!”

Told you it was a teaser!

The full video will debut on the official Duran Duran YouTube channel on Friday, and be sure to check out Style.com for the exclusive making-of trailer for the video if you want more.

I absolutely love that Naomi Campbell is back on the music video scene, having appeared in some of the most memorable music videos of all time. She shone amongst a bevy of supermodels in George Michael’s iconic Freedom video, one of my all time favorites!

And she turned up the heat in Michael Jackson’s In The Closet (which remains THE JAM).

When it comes to finding out Naomi Campbell’s beauty secrets, the internet doesn’t yield much — and believe me, I’ve looked. We know Naomi swears by a version of Master Cleanse every few months or so. We know she believes in perfectly manicured eyebrows. And we know that she reportedly gets glycolic peels and microdermabrasion to maintain her glowing skin. And the rest can be attributed to amazing genes.

Are you a Naomi Campbell admirer? What’s your favorite Naomi Campbell music video memory?

She is a beautiful girl and it’s such a shame she’s settled so comfortable with the Mistress title to her “married” billionaire boyfriend who can never ever marry her.

Absolutely FIERCE! Work it Diva. Also check her out in Culture Club’s “Tumble 4 Ya” – she’s one of the tap dancers…

I don’t know how Naomi Campbell does what she does…but I gotta admit everything she does makes me stop and stare. She’s just so insanely beautiful. And that walk! And that house is the icing on the cake! Now if she could just stay out of trouble…..LOL.

Naomi Campbell is one of those timeless beauties that is like a bottle of fine wine, she’s gorgeous. But, she definitely should go natural and rub some Castor Oil & Rosemary Essential Oil mix on those balding edges, have you seen the photos lately…

Amazingly, she’s more gorgeous now than ever! You can see where she’s aged (not in wrinkles or lines) but her face looks older without looking old. She looks like a 41 year old woman. Maybe she’s more beautiful because she’s weathered many storms and have survived and it shows in her face. A more serene countenance is showing.

The Master Cleanse is the business for detoxifying. Done correctly, it can cleanse the body and the effects show in clearer skin.
Doing this twice a year and eating lots of fresh fruits, veggies and drinking water works at keeping weight in line.

Don’t know what Naomi does about her diet, but her skin is radiant and it cannot be the effect of only creams, peels, or any topical agent.
Her hair, of course, is a totally different story. All I can say is, it must be difficult to be in her industry and feel the pressure of the particular beauty standard that is being force fed to the public. Her hairline tells the story of a fractured industry.

She’s a beauty. I’ve always admired her poise. I learned something new today: I didn’t realize that she was the hotness in Michael’s In The Closet video.

Now I’m thinking about trying Master Cleanse:)

Naomi finds something good and sticks to it. She been working the bangs for years. Maybe that’s her secret.

I agree with you Anna Renee! No malice, just an honest observation.

In the words of David Ruffin of the original Temptations: “Beauty’s only skin deep…” when her beauty fades as it eventually will, what then will she have…memories, and they too will fade away!

Um, Naomi is gorgeous but she hasn’t aged any better than the average black woman. I’ve never seen any dark brown women who did really wrinkle…some get pegged as looking old b/c of how they dress, having gray hair, being heavier, or having skin damage from things like acne, but you don’t see much in the way of wrinkling on black women. The skin stays smooth and full naturally.

And in that picture above, if it’s current, she actually doesn’t look so “young” so much as pretty, which she has and will continue to be. I hope she doesn’t start altering her face (yes, she had a nose job before) b/c I’ve seen some black women do that b/c in their environment, it is seen as a requirement (ahem, Vivica Fox).

But I’d say that Michelle Obama and Angela Bassett have aged much better(and have several years on her), probably b/c if we’re being honest, Naomi has not made the healthiest “lifestyle” choices. She’s lucky she’s black b/c I think that some of that stuff would have ruined her looks permanently otherwise.

I agree, and I think that what is making her look 41 is the fact that her eyes have been done. That is not how they used to look. I think she’s starting to fall for suggestions that she needs to tweak her face and she needs to stop b/c it deforms people and doesn’t make them look younger the way that the surgeons claim.

BOTTOM LINE SHE IS A FIERCE LOOKING BEAUTY. LADIES, WE SHOULD ALL TAKE NOTES.
