Hey bellas! It’s been a minute since makeup correspondent Sherry Blossom (@MsSherryBlossom) blessed the blog! Now she’s here to collaborate with me on a post! Sherry’s no stranger to drugstore makeup, and neither am I – any makeup lover knows that wipes are ESSENTIAL. I can’t travel without ‘em, and as a makeup artist and vlogger, Sherry knows they’re indispensible!
Together we’ve reviewed a few of our favorite drugstore makeup wipes! Here you go – we tried, now you’ll know what to buy!
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
Rating from 1 to 10: 9
Would I recommend: YES!
I’d describe these as my go-to, gold standard drugstore wipes. In general Neutrogena is a great drugstore brand, there are very few of their products that I haven’t loved on first try. These Neutrogena wipes are in MANY a makeup artist’s kit, let me tell you from experience! Perfectly moist, pleasantly fragrant, gentle enough to use around my eyes, durable, and best of all they come with the plastic tub to ensure that your wipes don’t eventually dry out. I keep these beside my bed, and whenever I travel, this tub goes in my luggage to make sure I keep my skin makeup free at night. One wipe usually works for me to remove a day’s glamour. – Afrobella
Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Makeup Removing Wipes
Rating from 1 to 10: 8
Would I recommend: YES!
I was new to Korres until very recently – I’d always heard great things about the brand but it wasn’t until my recent trip to the Johnson campus in Skillman NJ, that I had a chance to really interact with the products in person. Celebrity makeup artist and one of my favorite people Tia Dantzler introduced me to the Pomegranate Cleansing & Makeup Removing Wipes and now I want to try EVERYTHING Korres! These wipes are super soft, super strong, and they smell DELICIOUS! A pack of 25 wipes will cost you $12, and these generally sell at Ulta and Sephora. If you don’t enjoy fruity, clean fragrances this may not be a product for you. But I’m loving the effectiveness and the fragrance of these wipes so far. They feel like quality and work great for my oily/combination skin type. Thanks, Tia and Johnsons! – Afrobella
CosBar at Target Blueberry Cleansing Towelettes
Rating from 1 to 10: 9
Would I recommend: YES!
Are you all up on the Shops at Target, and CosBar in particular? If you’re like me and LOVE everything leopard, their whole COLLECTION probably had you at HELLO. CosBar has super cute tweezers and makeup travel items available at Target right now –check em out before they’re gone! I adore the package of these wipes. Purple leopard packaging? It’s like I was in the design room! These cleansing towelettes are gentle and smell delicious, like blueberries and vanilla and everything that’s fresh and clean. And the PRICE is right – a pack of 30 wipes is just $5 at Target! Love that. The wipes themselves are a nice size and of a great moisture level, they don’t leave my face feeling over moistened after, just soft and clean and happy. Check out their other fragrances, each comes in a different color of leopard print packaging! – Afrobella
Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes
Rating from 1 to 10: 9
Would I recommend: YES!
“We all love those makeup wipes that get the job done actually, if we are truly honest about it, we want our favorite makeup wipes to be our entire skin care regimen in one swipe. Well, that’s asking for a bit much but, your makeup removing wipe should do exactly that….remove makeup. Patrice and I can attest to the fact that we’ve, tried numerous makeup wipes over the years. The drugstore is one of my favorite places to go to pick up affordable and effective beauty and skinThese makeup removing wipes are inexpensive. Just $4.79 for a package of 25. One wipe can clean your entire face. I love how smoothly it glides on the skin while removing your makeup. Even waterproof makeup doesn’t stand a chance. It dissolves the dirt, makeup and oil and makes it easy to wipe away in simple swipes. With it’s soft texture it isn’t abrasive to the skin and it doesn’t burn your eyes. They are gentle enough to use around your eye area and are great for contact lens wearers. So getting mascara off is a breeze. The wipes are pre moistened and don’t have a strong smell, these are by far my favorite drugstore makeup removing wipes to date.” – Sherry Blossom
Dead Sea Elements Wet Cleansing & Make Up Remover Towelettes (Normal to Dry Skin)*
Rating of from 1 to 10: 7
Would I recommend: YES!
Many scientific studies have found dead sea elements to be beneficial for our skin. The dead sea elements have been linked to helping to increase the skin’s metabolism, slow the aging of the skin and increase circulation. I am surely a fan of all the above. Who wouldn’t want healthy skin that heals quickly and looks young. So the above makeup wipes are just what the skin ordered: ringing up at $5.99 for a package of 30 wipes. I do wish one of these wipes could clean your face but honestly I always seem to need 2. The texture is semi-smooth and the little pockets on the wipe aren’t abrasive but I find when removing waterproof makeup the wipes doesn’t glide along as smoothly. You can feel that the makeup is being smeared across your face before it’s being picked up on the cloth. Especially any waterproof makeup; so be very careful and gentle when removing waterproof mascara or risk having the infamous “raccoon eyes”. I dislike the feeling of makeup being smeared off, I love when it comes off in 1 swipe, so with these wipes I tend to buff off the makeup in sections, thus needing 2 wipes to clean my entire face. I believe it may be because I should be using the Normal to Oily Skin wipes which have glycerin higher on the list and citric acid lower on the list of ingredients. For some having to buff your makeup off instead of wiping it off can prove to be a nuisance, I overlook that because these wipes are infused with dead sea salts & minerals, alcohol free, oil free, glycerin, citric acid and PH balances. The scent isn’t as powerful as it may seem and my skin always feels refreshed after I use it. – Sherry Blossom
Absolute! Make-Up Cleansing Tissues
Rate from 1 to 10: 3
Would I recommend: Nope, needs improvement
These makeup removing wipes are the cheapest on the list, ringing up at $2.99 for 33 wipes. 2-3 wipes are necessary to remove your face completely of makeup. I find that these wipes dry out extremely fast and barely feel like it’s removing makeup at all. The worse part is in removing mascara, it gives you the craziest raccoon eyes first! I really dislike that because I then have to really work to remove it from my eye area. With the skin in that area being sensitive having to rub that area over and over again at times leads to irritation. This wipe also seems to leave bits and pieces of fiber on your face. I’ve opted to use these to remove any makeup spills in my makeup station or in my Zuca bags. Just add water or your favorite disinfectant spray and these wipes turn into the ultimate cleaning cloth! Hey, who said you couldn’t improvise! Until improvements are made in the above mentioned areas I wouldn’t recommend these, they’re not as effective as I would like. – Sherry Blossom

I was kinda surprised that the Pond’s Evening Soothe wipes weren’t on this list. They’re economical, smell great, and stay moist. I feel in love with these after getting a free 10 pack sample from Target a few months back.

My absolute favorite is Dickinson’s witch hazel wipes. Although they do not specify for makeup removal, that’s what I use them for and they work really great for the purpose. They’re 100% natural and very inexpensive too. They can be found at Walgreens stores and online.
