Fall Makeup, I am HERE For YOU

by afrobella

I didn’t get it when I lived in a hot climate but now it’s going to be my third autumn in Chicago and I finally GET it. I get the anticipation of the changing seasons. I get the allure of autumn. It’s still sunny, but cool enough to layer. It’s the season for blazers and jackets and tights under your skirts and dresses. It’s the season when makeup collections turn from peachy pink and dewy, to noir, glam, and glittery. In other words, fall might be my favorite season. I am HERE for the fashion and the makeup. The biggest makeup brands at your department store are all releasing new hotness right around now, for Fall, for Fashion’s Night Out, and for Holiday 2012 collections! Allow me to share the fall makeup collections and items I’m MOST excited about!

MAC MAC’s got a LOT going on for Fall 2012.

You know I am HERE for a purple lip, and I am so ready for the limited edition lipstick from MAC and rapper Azealia Banks! Yung Rapunxel is a deep plum cream lipstick with an amplified, semi-matte finish, named after Banks’ alter ego. SO. HOT. I know a certain impossible to get purple lipglass that would look amazing layered over that color…and like my color, this purple is also a sexy limited edition get-it-while-you-can color. To kick off her color, fans and insiders can catch an exclusive performance by Azealia Banks at M·A·C’s Fashion’s Night Out – and no worries, if you can’t make it to the 212, the performance will be airing on M·A·C‘s Facebook page on September 7th for a one-time only viewing at 1pm EST. And that Yung Rapunxel lipstick will run you $15, and is available US only, online September 5, 2012 at maccosmetics.com and at all NYC M·A·C stores September 6, 2012 through September 20, 2012.

If you’re seeking even more sexy MAC purples, get thyself to the pro store and get your hands on the new pro lip palettes, available at the pro stores in North America August 23, and online in October. The six pro palettes include a carefully handpicked selection of shades – Editorial Oranges, Preferred Pinks, Modern Browns, Editorial Reds, and my fave, Select Plums. They’re a great way to expand your collection and try similar shades you might not have had a chance to before.

NARS

The Andy Warhol for NARS Collection is a Holiday 2012 collection but it’s all everyone is buzzing about right now. It is enormous, it is glorious, it is what a tribute collection should be in terms of product and packaging. And OH, that PACKAGING.

The images of Debbie Harry, Candy Darling and Edie Sedgwick adorn the big, beautiful cheek and eye palettes. Andy Warhol’s distinctive visage is on the eye shadows, and the most immediately wearable, desirable items to me are the soft touch shadow pencils and the nail polish. Prominent colors of the collection are silver (duh), deep teal, purple, surprising pops of green, and for lips lots of kissable pinks ranging from rich rose and raspberry, to barely there shimmering strawberry. Most excited about – I’d say the Debbie Harry eye and cheek palette is the most exciting item – a sparkling collection of shadows made with Diamond Powder, “made of real micronized diamonds.” Packaging and colors to die for, and it’s $65. Will be on sale at Sephora from October 1.

Slightly most affordable lustworthy items – those nailpolishes really are bangin’. $18 a pop.

Urban Decay

Urban Decay is not playing games – they are coming straight for your wallet this holiday season. Yep. Forget fall, Holiday 2012 products are here and it’s about to be crucial for makeup lovers. If you’re into Urban Decay eyeshadow and eyeliner, you’re gonna have some tough decisions facing you.

If you’re into eye shadow, the new Fun, Feminine, and Dangerous palettes will call your name – they’re beautifully packaged, include six shadows and a Lip Junkie Lip Gloss. Musings of a Muse breaks them all the way down here – love her blog, it’s so thorough!

If you’re into eyeliner – and who isn’t? – you’ll find yourself hypnotized by the beauty of the limited edition Ocho Loco collection, which features eight full size 24/7 glide pencils, and four new ones – Mushroom, Psychedelic Sister, Hustle, and LSD. I literally gasped when I opened this. If someone in your life loves makeup, this would be a great present to find under the tree, and it’s limited edition. Just saying.

Make Up For Ever

FNO 2012 Palettes - Group Shot

Everyone loves the ability to customize their favorite product, and for FNO, Make Up For Ever came correct on that front with four limited edition FNO themed eye shadow palettes that shoppers can customize with their four favorite shadow colors for fall (choosing from their full range of 125 shades). I already know which palette I’d choose (Midnight Rocker, at the bottom left!) You can go to the Make Up For Ever boutiques in Dallas, Costa Mesa, New York City (E. 12th St), Soho, Las Vegas (The Venetian) and LA – and customize while sipping champagne on Fashion’s Night Out.

And if you don’t feel like leaving your home on FNO (or there’s nothing happening near you), you can participate in MUFE madness via QVC – on FNO they’re revealing new items and one of their items is this sweet $30 MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Aqua Rouge Liquid Lip Color and Aqua Lip Liner Duo which comes in three shades: #2 (Rosewood), #8 (Red) and #11 (Dark Raspberry) – absolutely perfect for the season, no?  Aqua Rouge is MUFE’s new hotness for Fall, and it’s all about smudge-proof, high impact, high shine lip color that LASTS – created for artists working on film sets, who need to do less touch-ups on their clients. Comes in 12 shades, and at $24 a piece at Sephora or Make Up For Ever stores, you might wanna stalk em on QVC first!

THOSE are my department store makeup picks for fall and in a few cases, on into the holidays. I’ll be back with the best drugstore picks next – there’s some hotness at your neighborhood drugstore too, bellas – don’t sleep!

See anything you’re dying to try?
