Next time you head to your local supermarket, consider adding a few of these items to your grocery list. Eat these, and you’ll absolutely notice the difference!

Healthy Food For Stunning Skin

Top 10 healthy foods for stunning skin

#1 water, water, water. – Everyone knows the 8 glasses a day adage, but thanks to weird additives and faux-healthy flavored waters, it’s easy to get caught up and think you’re doing your skin more of a service than you actually are. Pure water is best, and mineral water is even better, according to this WebMD article. They recommend “at least half a gallon of good, clean water a day.” That’s doable, right?

#2 green tea – green tea is amazing for you inside and out. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, it is used internally for everything from reducing the risk of cancer, to improving kidney and liver functions. It’s also used topically in so many beauty products, because of it’s potential in reducing UV light damage and inflammation. It’s like a beauty elixir, inside and out.

#3 Brazil nuts – Brazil nuts are seen as a superfood, because of their high selenium content. They’re being buzzed about for purportedly helping to prevent cancer, but they also are proven to improve memory and it’s known as adding rich internal moisture to dry skin.

#4 oatmeal – Oatmeal is great for you internally, where it can help to reduce cholesterol and is an excellent source of fiber and omega-3’s. Externally, oatmeal is amazing externally – as a scrub to soften your skin and it’s great for acne prone or dry, irritated skin.

#5 wild salmon – high in omega-3’s and healthy fats, lean protein and amino acid, wild salmon is celebrated as one of the world’s healthiest foods. It’s also known for increasing the internal moisture of your skin, and it’s said to help with elasticity, even skin tone, and hydration.

#6 leafy green veggies – Dark green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale and the chard family used to get a bad reputation. Now they’re known as being incredibly good for you, and for being delicious when prepared well. Dark leafy greens are high in fiber and beta carotene, which is an antioxidant that repairs your skin from within. Spinach is high in a number of other health benefits including potassium, folate and lutein, all essential in skin wellness

#7 berries with a high antioxidant content – Berries are awesome. Not only are they delicious sweet candy from Mother Nature, they’re packed with antioxidants that make them incredibly good for your body. They’re full of nutrients that are known to be skin beneficial, and provide safe, healthy pigments.

#8 orange and yellow fruits and veggies – Carrots, mangoes, papayas, peppers – all super good for your skin because of their beta-carotene, and vitamins C and E content.

#9 yogurt –  yogurt is incredible both internally and externally. It can be used as a mask for moisture or acne prevention, or as a cleansing agent. Internally it’s essential for healthy digestion.

#10 – beans, peas, lentils – there’s a reason they’re part of the healing foods pyramid. Beans, peas and lentils are high in fiber, high in antioxidants and rich in phytochemicals. The protein they provide help for the growth of healthy nails, hair and regenerated skin cells.
