In the nine years we’ve been married, we’ve celebrated just about every kind of Valentine’s Day. We’ve gone on vacations and paid for expensive dinners, and we’ve had intimate celebrations at home. And our intimate celebrations at home somehow always manage to be the most special and memorable. I was looking for an amazingly delicious and fool proof recipe to cook together tonight, and my friends Chef Julius and his wife Jada Russell had THE perfect suggestion.
It’s called High Style Shrimp Pasta. And it’s sure to be a winner!
“It’s one of my favorites. We sort of developed it together and we have it almost every Valentines Day,” says Jada.

High Style Shrimp Pasta For Two
1 box Linguini
1 lb Shrimp (U16)
3T Giangrandi Gourmet “Intense Blend” Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Lemon quartered
1T Capers
¼ cup Sun-dried Tomatoes
½ cup Cantaluna Chardonnay or Casa Silva Sauvignon Blanc Wine (added in 3 stages)
1tsp. Minced Garlic
1/8 tsp Red Monkey Cajun Blend
1/8 tsp Chef Julius’ Salt Blend
1/8 tsp Red Monkey Italian Seasoning
White Truffle Oil
Chopped Fresh Herbs
Red Monkey Coarse Black PepperDirections
Heat sauté pan for 1 minute on medium heat. Add olive oil heat for 1 minute more.
Add some of the white wine, Cajun blend and minced garlic, sauté for 1-2 minute more.
Add Shrimp, more white wine, pepper and squeeze 1 wedge of lemon. Cook until Shrimp turn pink, about 2 minutes per side.
Then add sun-dried tomatoes, capers, last of the white wine, Italian seasoning. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
Cook pasta according to box instructions. Remember to add salt to your pasta water.
Drain the pasta. Spoon the shrimp with sauce over the top. Sprinkle Chef Julius’ salt and a drizzle of truffle oil. Top with fresh herbs.
