Can I be honest? Bellas, I felt lucky to make it all the way through last night’s Academy Award ceremony. I’ve been making it a point to watch the Oscars all the way through ever since I was little, and last night’s ceremony was naptastic. Snoozeworthy. Boring to the extreme. At the end I found myself struggling to think of the highlights. All I could come up with was Kirk Douglas, the f-bomb that Melissa Leo dropped in her acceptance speech, and of course – the fashion. At least there were fabulous dresses galore to talk about! Here are my favorites:
OPRAH. OKAY?
From head to toe she was flawless and sparkling. This is the definition of full figured fabulous. I’m having THE hardest time tracking down the designer of her gown, if any of you know please fill me in!
In particular I LOVED the color of her dress. JHud set off the tangerine Atelier Versace gown with purple shoes and diamonds everywhere you looked. Her elegant updo by stylist Kiyah Wright set off the look perfectly.
The woman can do no wrong! Halle was flawless as always in beige Marchesa. Feminine and innocent, yet oh so sexy. And her makeup was by Revlon, of course.
Natalie Portman.
Natalie Portman went into Oscar night predicted to be a big winner, and she didn’t come away disappointed. She was glowing and gorgeous in plum Rodarte (or is that maroon? Discuss!), and the Tiffany tassel earrings she wore were PERFECTION. I want a pair of my own (and no, they don’t have to be by Tiffany!)
Mila Kunis.
Both of the Black Swan ladies showed up and showed out! Mila was goddess like in pale lavender Elie Saab haute couture. It was lacy and daring, but undeniably feminine. Her makeup was by Lancome, and artist Tracey Levy used the the Color Design 5 Pan Palette in Coral Crush to set off the lavender lace. Gorgeous!
Amy Adams.
She rocked in The Fighter and looked GORGEOUS in that glittering, midnight blue L’Wren Scott dress. And she rocked the trend of the evening, emerald jewels. Loved everything about her look.
I was rooting for Hailee from the minute I saw True Grit – she was SO great in that film! And I loved that her dress was youthful yet classic. She designed her OWN dress, which is even cooler! Custom made Marchesa looked GREAT on her.
