Afrobella Anniversary Giveaway — The Minty Goodness of Eden Body Works

by afrobella

In the summertime when the weather is high, the sun, sand, and surf may feel great when you’re out there enjoying it. But exposure to the elements can do a number on your skin and hair in unexpected ways. I already alluded to the issues I’ve been experiencing in my Natural Hair Summer Loving post. Allow me to tell you more about one particular product that has been truly helping me survive the summer with fluffy, detangled and happy hair. Allow me to tell you more about Eden Body Works.

Seven years ago, a teenager named Jasmine Lawrence founded Eden to resolve issues she was dealing with because of harsh chemical relaxers.

From the very beginning — long before it was trendy — Eden has been about natural beauty. Their products contain no alcohol, no petroleum, no mineral oils or sodium sulfates. Using soothing peppermint and invigorating tea tree oil as main ingredients, the Eden Body Works product line has been giving my hair and scalp the refreshing nourishment I so desperately needed this summer.

My favorite products from the line include the shampoo (cleansing without stripping my hair of moisture), the conditioner (love it for a summertime cowash), and the hair milk which contains organic coconut oil, jojoba and avocado oils. If you have been a fan of other hair milks but have been seeking something to soothe and refresh your curls with the tingle of peppermint and tea tree, look no further!

But you don’t just have to listen to my opinion. In honor of seven years of Eden Body Works and five years of this here blog you’re reading, seven lucky Afrobella readers will get an Eden Body Works gift set including the full product line and their signature jute bag (which is quite lovely, no?).

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me which Eden Body Works product you’re most excited to try! This contest is open to US and Canadian bellas, and will be closed on Tuesday. A winner will be chosen and announced by next week.

Good luck, bellas!

  69. Antoinette Robinson

    at

Happy Anniversary. I started using Jasmine’s products of Eden Body Works since I first heard of the products on Oprah. I wanted to help such a young, professional entreprenuer get her business to grow and wanted to be a part of helping someone so gifted to be more successful. I also needed products that would help my hair not hurt it and these products have done that and more. I loved the jojoba products and found that the products worked so well that I had found a small group who would end up being faithful customers for life. I love the conditioner and shampoo but really miss the jojoba hair oil which was easy to use when I had braids in my hair.

  70. Andrea A.

I’m glad to see her products are still around. I wanted to try them when they were in Wallyworld, but they sort of disappeared. I went to the site, and at the time there weren’t any products available. I assumed they went out of business. I’m very happy to see that isn’t the case.

My hair is so dry, it’s not shiny and I do eat healthy foods and drink lots of alkaline water so diet is not the issue. Sitting here thinking about the physical sensation of the shampoo with peppermint and how my scalp would feel is making me smile but then I look at the hair moisturizer and I can just about visualize contentment. Yet,the hair milk itself is also so inviting. Win or lose, I’m going to try the trio.
    Glad I found this site!

“Hair Milk” product sounds wonderful for natural hair. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with many other African-American women starving for hair care & products. I have spent way too much $$ purchasing products online with minimum results to achieve healthy, manageable natural hair! Please remember Sisters & Brothers also live where there is no humidity!

I would definetly love to try the hair milk. I have very dry and kinky hair, which needs to be constantly moisturized. The ingredients sound soothing and nourishing, but best of all natural.

i think whats most cool about this line is that it was started by a teenager. I love the sound of the hair milk. i already use coconut oil in my hair but in combination with tea tree oil sounds divine!!!

I am excited to try the whole product line simply beacuse one will work much better with the other. I’m an experienced hair stylist and cosmetology instructor. I will be sure to share this product with my clients. They are my greatest critics about any product
