Anyone in DC Wanna Meet Me?

by afrobella

Hey bellas and fellas! The next stop on my road trip will be Washington DC!

I’m super stoked to visit our nation’s capital, and I’d love to meet some of my beautiful blogger friends and fellow bellas!

My good friend DJ Busca (he was one of the DJs at my wedding!) will be providing sweet reggae vibes on Thursday night, starting at 9 p.m.

It’s going down at The Science Club. Come on out for some good drinks, eats, music, and fun times if you’re in town! I’d love to meet you!

Hey – what a coincidence, your’re in Washington, DC. I need information about Howard University – my daughter was just accepted there. Can you get the low down. Hey – can you sisters help as well.

    Thanks bellas

Hey Barb – I’m not yet in Washington DC and I know nothing about the city. Congrats to your daughter – maybe some of my readers are more equipped to fill you in on the city’s treasures.

    Thank you Ms. Bella –

Readers tell me what you know about Howard University – all the pros and cons – much appreciated.

Afrobella I will be there. I need to get out for a spell. I am so excited!

Barb, I am a grad student at Howard, so my perspective may be a bit different because my expectations & needs are slightly different versus an undergrad. However, I can speak to some general things. I will email you personally, as the list may be too lengthy as comment reply here. I will say in this forum that there are definitely ups AND downs. Overall…it depends on your field & expectations of the “college experience”. So for some, it may be perfect, for others not so much. And that’s all I have to say about that.

    Ms. Barb,

I went to Howard (and transferred out) but still have some friends who attend. I’ll shoot you an email and TRY to give you an unbiased perspective lol and some names of ppl who can probably help with her colllege experience if she chooses to attend.

    Peace!

bella – sorry for two posts, i’m playing catch up. i have a request: would you do an entry on your tips on how to start a blog? i’ve been interested in doing it for a long time now, but am stuck in paralysis by analysis.

    thanks!

Can’t wait to meet you! I’ve been a regular reader for a while and love your blog. So absolutely girly, political and positive. I will coming down from Bmore! I saw that reggae starts at 9. Is that the time you’ll get there?

Iwanted to meet you but just left The Science Club after being treated rudely by the first floor waitress.
    I hope you enjoy DC!

Bella, I’m afraid I can’t make it tonight. I’ve got an audit at work in the morning (unexpectedly) 🙁 . I hope you are enjoying DC nonetheless.

Hey Nappy Mind – sorry you missed the event. Your comment was left at 8:26, and I didn’t arrive until 9…. so can’t account for the waitress experience.

Thanks so much to everyone who showed, I had a wonderful time!! Love to all – my visit to DC will be too short, but I promise I’ll be back!
