Before a whole week passes and I completely forget – my blog buddy Nichelle of 55 Secret Street was inspired by some of the comments left in my review of the prescription fade cream Tri-Luma.
While The Makeup Girl advises rubbing lemon on your knees and elbows, Nichelle advises sunscreen and exfoliation, and her post on the subject is informative. Check it out!

For the record, let me say that both Nichelle and The Makeup Girl are extremely knowledgeable and speak from experience.
And we all agree that applying Clorox bleach to your skin is an absolutely horrifying idea.

You know what else is horrifying. Seeing typos that you hoped would only be seen on afrobella.com posted on another blog. I could kick myself for typing at 3:00 am. I really wish Nichelle would have corrected that for me.
Oh well. That’s life.

@BlackHoney –
Girl, do you know how many typos I type at 3 am? I have to go back and correct myself all the time! Three am typos are perfectly acceptable and understandable to me. My only concern was the bleach and the rubbing alcohol – not your typos!

@BlackHoney (sorry Bella, one more thing)
I try not to correct direct quotes – even comments – for the sake of accuracy.

Great advice ladies, I plan on giving the lemons and sunscreen a try this season, although not together.

@Nichelle,
Understood. I passed your information on to my cousins who use Clorox as a skin bleach.

Hi, I’m from the UK and am desperate to give TriLuma a go but cannot get hold of it anywhere in Europe, let alone England! Can anyone out there help???? I’m not black but I have very olive skin (am part Portuguese)and can relate to the on-going nightmare of dark, uneven patches on the face. I also get dark spots which last forever after a bout of spots. Please help! Many thanks AND HOPE SOMEONE READING THIS BLOG CAN ASSIST! Sarahp x

If you use lemon be careful to only use it at night because lemon makes you extra-sensitve to sun damage.
