I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it — you guys nominated me for THREE Black Weblog Awards this year!
Honored is not even the word. My admiration for the folks who put these awards together, as well as for so many of the previous winners and current nominees, can’t be overstated. Afrobella has been nominated for Best Culture Blog, Best Style and Fashion Blog, and YAY, Best Writing in a Blog!
Many of my favorite blogs are also nominated this year, including Concrete Loop, Soulbounce, Funky Brown Chick, Conversate Is Not a Word, NYAM, Trini Gourmet, Crunk and Disorderly, Pam’s House Blend, The Beautiful Struggler, Jack and Jill Politics, The Fashion Bomb, and Necole Bitchie. So as you see, I’m in excellent company!

Put simply you are an absolutely phenomenal writer!
You, Afrobella, have such creative flare – I can only read with awe at the way you encourage others to communicate with you on topical issues that *may* not be covered on the web or in print.
Your honesty and loyalty are such that I consider you, in my eyes, a rare gem.
Although we have never met before I feel privileged to be able to consider you as a friend – I’m positive that I’m not alone when I type these words either!
The ability that you have to share your written images with your readers and discuss your thoughts in such panoramic vision is something that SHOULD be awarded, rewarded and celebrated every day that you wake to type your feelings out for all of us to absorb.
