Want Of The Week: Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color

by afrobella

I like to think of myself as a practical person. When I shop, I go to discount retailers. If I have an event to go to, I’d rather see what goodies are already in my closet, than spend my hard earned bucks on something new and trendy. But every now and then I’ll see an item that makes my heart beat faster and my palms grow sweaty. And right now, that is Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color. In Black Orchid, to be absolutely specific.

It’s $45. For a lipstick. Yeah, I know.

And I’ve got a few color dupes for this shade – Three Custom’s Noir and Bobbi Brown’s yummy new Treatment Lip Shine in Raisin come most immediately to mind. But the ultra glam packaging, the deep and delicious color (that would be SO pretty on darker skin tones) and let’s not kid ourselves – the brand name alone – makes Marvin Gaye’s I Want You start autoplaying in my head.

Am I likely to shell out $45 for this lippie? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have buckets of lust for it!

It seems like a nice color.
Here’s hoping your post gets you at least a 20% off coupon!
or maybe it will be in a gift bag soon? I know the only thing better than getting this would be getting it for free.

$45 is a lot..however sometimes you have to just shell it out if its something that you really want.. It’s nice to just treat yourself once in a while to something that you normally would not buy.. As for me I will spend more than that on a single hair product..so I say go for it…

clinique makes a sumptuous dark-but-not-too-dark, glossy-but-not-sticky burgundy-red called “black honey,” that’s beautiful and black girls, and much easier on the wallet!

You should check out Tom Ford’s article in the May issue of Vogue. Just the way he described the allure of lipstick made me want it. Also, all of the colors are various shades of red, so it has that vampy appeal. However, $45 is no joke these days. I’ll have to pass.

I looked for the color “raisin” on the bobbi brown website and it wasn’t listed. Is that particular color only sold at Niemans?
