Donna Brazile has been an auntie-in-my-head for years now. No-nonsense, personable, classy and sassy – Donna tells it like it is, and if you don’t like it, #shruglife. I love that about her.
Now Donna has a new column for O The Oprah Magazine, and she kicked things off in inimitable Donna Brazile fashion. Her first piece is titled The Smartest Advice I Ever Got, and it is chock full of awesome. Not only does she have a philosophy on high heels which I am totally stealing, but she ends with this tidbit of wisdom:
I sleep too little, go too fast, and indulge too often in minor vices. But as my Grandma Frances said, “You can only go as far and as long as your body will take you.” That’s why I slow down to enjoy an occasional glass (or two) of finely aged single-malt scotch. I don’t think it’s what Grandma Frances meant, but taking that moment is what allows me to keep going too far and too fast the rest of the time.
Amen to that, Donna! And note to self – give single-malt scotch a try
