The Sam Fine Fashion Fair Collection is FINALLY Available!

by afrobella

The excitement has been building since it was announced in 2011, that respected, acclaimed celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine was taking over as Creative Makeup Director for Fashion Fair Cosmetics. Ever since then makeup lovers have been wondering – when will there be a Sam Fine Fashion Fair collection? What would a Sam Fine Fashion Fair collection look like? And finally, our questions have been answered. The Sam Fine collection is OFFICIALLY at Fashion Fair counters!

I wrote a teaser post about the collection for Glam.com – you can read it here.

And after writing that post, I was able to get on over to Macy’s on State Street to check out the collection myself! Beloved Chicago makeup artist Viola Nicholson was on hand to share it with me, and to try out a few items on me for an upcoming photo shoot I did yesterday.

Here I’m wearing a mix of lip colors – primarily Cognac, African Violet, Pink Parfait and we finished with a little Canary Diamond gloss.

On my eyes, Viola used the Tunisian Nights eyeshadow quad, applying the black shadow while wet, and patting on the navy shadow with her fingers.

I really love African Violet – it’s a truly unexpected kind of purple. Deep, dark and sexy, like the skin of an eggplant. Pink Parfait isn’t soft and tame as the name might indicate – this is a powerful POW of pink, perfect for deeper skin tones. The Tunisian Nights shadows lasted all day – can’t wait to show you the shoot I wore this for!

For now all I have are these images and the official info via Fashion Fair. Follow them on Facebook for more images and info. And of course, follow @SamFineBeauty on Twitter for the inside scoop from the man himself. CONGRATS, Sam! We are so proud of you and excited about this!

Visit Macy’s or Macy’s.com to get your items from the collection today!

I’ve never tried a Fashion Fair product, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t grow up with it. Mom, grandmother, aunts, teachers and etc. owned fashion fair. I need to continue the legacy and find at least a favorite product of theirs to use.

I’m on the fence. I haven’t worn FF in over 20yrs. It just hasn’t spoken to me as a brand…the scent, the heaviness and it just seemed like make up my mama would wear.

I understand time brings change, I’ll check out the collection and keep and open mind.

Hi Bella, I’m graduating to big girl makeup and looking for a new foundation (Although I am very excited to try the FF lipsticks and shadow palletes. Seriously, I was JUST in Sephora looking for an affordable palette of high-pigment colors that included both purple and blue). I searched and found your post saying that you had tried out FF’s foundation, but I’m wondering if you got any more tries out of it. What do you think?

I wore Tropic Pink, Grapesicle, and Chocolate Raspberry religiously! Women of all races would approach me and ask what color and brand I was wearing. I slowly drifted away to other brands and have spent a lot of money. I was looking for a fuschia color the other day and of course went to MAC and tried all the usual suspects but they were too bright or not purple enough and very dry. Then I rememberd Chocolate Raspberry and went to the FF site. I am now going to rekindle that love affair and try Royal Orchid too!!! Keep it up FF and Sam Fine.
