I need to try this body wash to curb my product junkie habit . My natural hair is very dry & so is my skin. I have ordered all types of natural soaps recommended from various forums & blogs and no solution yet. I love this blog & am sure that this Oil of Olay body wash will do trick:)

Eat lots of fruit, drink plenty of water & witch hazel face cleanse before bed! 🙂 I worked with a Dominican woman before who swore by it! She looked amazing; in her 50’s with the skin & glow of a 30 year old. That was her secret. I tucked it in my back pocket & used it myself. I’ve yet to have anyone know my age! -Could be genetics, but I like to believe I had a hand in it also!

I don’t have any anti-aging body care tips which is why I’m always scouring your site for tips and ideas. I’m working on it and a bottle of this Oil of Olay body wash that sounds so heavenly would be a good start 😉

Always leave your body slightly damp after the shower. NEVER completely dry off. Then and only then, apply your favorite moisturizer! Your damp skin will help to lock in the moisturizer…no ashy skin!

I believe beauty comes from within. Treating your body right and keeping your life simple works wonders for your complexion. It gives you a natural glow that rivals any bronzer or blush. Be happy and don’t sweat the small stuff.

I’ve been wanting to try this product. Right now, I’m using shea butter all over. I cleanse my face and follow up with witch hazel and shea butter. I also drink lots of water.

My top anti-aging body tip is to wear sunscreen on your neck, chest, and hands. These spots get lots of sun, so you can use all the products you want on your face, but a wrinkly neck and hands full of age spots will give you away every time! Black does crack!

I have very dry & sensitive skin. I gotta go old school – yes, Vaseline. It is one of the only things that doesn’t irritate my skin. Plus, exfoliation is key – I get rid of that dead stuff that accumulates, especially during winter. I’ll be 40 in August and most think I’m in my late 20’s early 30’s.
I try to eat a well balanced diet as well – lots of fresh fruits & veggies. You’ll get your water intake with lots of fruits.

Exfoliation, sunscreen, shea butter and oils. These things have been key for me. Exfoliation gets rid of the dead skin and let’s new skin shine through. There’s a misconception that black skin doesn’t need sunscreen. Yes, because our skin is dark we do possess a “natural” suncreen/skin protection but our skin, especially our faces still need a suncreen. I have dry skin and shea butter that I buy and mix with oils (jojoba, olive oil, sweet almond oil, etc.) works wonders for my skin.

Drink water!! My skin always looks so much healthier when i drink tons of water. I also look for bodywash that lists shea butter or fruit oils as one of the first 5 ingredients.

My two best tips are to use sunscreen and moisturize. Drying the skin ages the skin and sunscreen is good for black women too.

Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, and sleep with 99% natural aloe gel as a mask on face and neck.

For me, exfoliation and moisturizing is key. I’ve always showered with a moisturizing wash and followed up with baby oil, dabbing off the excess water. A few years ago, I began making a paste with brown sugar and baby oil. I would use the scrub from the neck down. Regular use will help rid your body of stretch marks as well as other scars. For a quick softening tip, wet hands and feet, rub with baking soda or salt, rinse, and enjoy the softness. (The baking soda not only softens, it stops odor, and it works for silver jewelry as well).

I discovered the oil cleansing method about a month and a half ago and now I swear by it. I have oily skin so of course I had doubts but I tried it and I’ve seen the difference. http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/ I need something for the rest of my body though so I hope this Olay product will be the answer.

    Hi,

I really enjoy your website. It’s a fun to learn about new products. One of my favorite anti-aging things besides using facial moisturizer every day s to use a body scrub to get off the dead, flaky body skin. My favorite lately is one I make from brown sugar, olive oil and vanilla.

    Blessings,

To keep my skin smooth I drink 10 glasses of water everyday and I have cut the amount of coffee I drink per day(coffee dehydrates my skin ).I exfoliate twice per week to get rid of the older dull layer of skin. For my body I will use a sugar and honey scrub and I use an egg white mask for my face.

Body care starts on the inside. Drinking water and eating healthy are the most important things to make sure your skin ,hair, and nails are in top shape! When I eat right and drink enough water my skin glows! I don’t even need lotion!

    My tips for staying young:
Physically – drink plenty of water, use Vaseline to remove makeup and moisturize your skin.
Mentally – surround yourself with good people & remember to laugh at yourself.

my best tip would be to love your body from head to toe; from the roots of your hair to the toes of your feet. if you don’t love it, it won’t love you back. take care and treat it well. it’s the only one you’ve got and needs to take you through your lifetime.

if you love your body, you will seek out the best for it. this means you will do your best to protect and nurture it. you will eat well (e.g. vitamins etc), you will exercise to keep it moving (e.g. pilates), you will use products that are beneficial to it (sunscreen), you will avoid products that are harmful to it (cigarettes).

My grandma is 85 but she looks 40 reason:
    .sleep (8hrs)
    .less exposure to sun
    .stress-free
.worry-free (do not cry over split milk)
    .vitamins
    .MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE
    .RELAXATION

So I have been practicing these tips myself.

Hello! I’m 28 years old and finally have learned to embrace all that is ME: my skin tone, hair texture, height, weight, spirit, you name it! Now that I’m completely in love with what I have to offer inside and out, I gotta keep it fresh and healthy! My top anti-aging habits are 1) EXERCISING – I’m no gym buff, but I stay active exercising with friends and my dog. Since exercise bores me really quickly, I vary the workouts and ‘trick’ myself into working out; 2) USE SHEA BUTTER AND OLIVE OIL. These are my two favorite natural products that keep my hair and skin on point. 3) LAUGHING. Who cares how long you live if you are always making a stank face? And 4) DRINK PLENTY WATER. Keeps me feeling good, but even better, it keep my hair and skin healthy. Having dry hair and ashy skin is like hopping in the aging express lane.

I drink a lot of water to keep me internally hydrated and I moisturise my skin daily so that I’m hydrated on the outside as well. I try to eat fruits and vegetables regularly and I avoid procesed foods. On my face during the day I use moisturiser with SPF 15 or more regardless of the weather. At night I use an anti-aging moisturiser or a retinol product on my face. Additionally, I moisturise the rest of my skin and lips before bed. One of the best things you can do is use gentle products for face, hair and body preferably with natural ingrdients. I sleep 7 – 8 hours each night since resting is very important for recharging your body. Normally, I dont wear makeup.

Definitely be very very diligent about putting on sunscreen whenever you go out, even if it’s bleaky and foggy outside because the sun’s rays are super strong!

Be good about choosing cosmetics with healthy ingredients, and not harmful cheap chemicals.

  29. KianaB

Besides a healthy diet, I would say always use sunscreen to fight aging. Protection from UV is a must no matter what your skin tone.

I started using coconut oil as a body moisturizer fresh out of the shower. I’ve kicked up my cardio routine to include hiking Kennesaw Mtn, in GA on the weekends and I’m forcing myself to drink plenty of water. I’m getting married next year and I have alot of beauty goals ;0) to achieve by next summer. Oh I’m also taking daily vitamin supplements. I think those have helped increase my metabolism tremedously!

I have a 97 year old aunt and she looks stunning. The only moisturizer she has ever used is vaseline petroleum. My pores are too big and I will break out using that on my face but it definitely works for her. She also rarely eats meat and loads up on veggies.

I would love to try this product. I had a great experience with their microdermabrasion line. Their products have a terrific balance of moisture and does not leave the skin oily. I hope I get chosen to try this product.

Well I tried it, and its been “boo-approved”. Anything that makes a man take notice of my skin only after a couple of days is a win/win product. I only wish I had known about it during the Winter months – could of really used it.

I am 50 and there are a couple of things I do to maintain my natural beauty. Along with everyone else I maintain a proper diet of vegetables fruit and plenty of water along with a regular cardio & strength training routine.
I also have a regimen of vitamins I take daily in particular Vitamin D (African American are usually low) & Vitamin E (which is very good for skin). I also get plenty of rest and dont indulge in smoking or drinking!

    3) Stay away from PROCESSED/PRE-PACKAGED FOODS
    4) Wear Sunscreen on exposed skin
    5) Be extra-gentle when cleansing, no excessive pulling or tugging.

You know I have been using the exfoliating shower gloves for years. They feel great and I have always gotten compliments from random people about how baby soft my skin it. Those gloves work. I have also started using salt scrubs about once a week.

When washing my face I do not rub in downward direction. I always wipe going up! As far as products go a moisturizer with spf is the best way to go. Ambi is good. I like face masks and exfoliating to reduce wrinkles and blemishes.

I stopped using Olay because I saw more results with the Somaluxe Moisturizer in one week than I have seen in years of Olay. I am 44 and my skin has SOME wrinkles, and considerable discoloration from redness(no porcelian skin like when I was young). My skin is also extremely oily, prone to adult acne and I am beyond pale but otherwise think my skin has faired pretty I have become pretty skeptical of skin products and stuck with Olay.

After several days of using the Somaluxe Moisturizer – even the big crease between my eyes isn’t as deep, and the discoloration has lessened almost to the point I can go without foundation!
