Afrobella’s Holiday Favorites Giveaway #1 – Kiehl’s Creme de Corps

by afrobella

Around this time of year it’s a beautiful thing to be given a gift — but it’s even more beautiful to be the gift giver. I reached out to some of my favorite brands to arrange special holiday giveaways for Afrobella readers, and I hope you love the products as much as I do!

First up on the holiday giveaway list? One of my FAVORITE skincare brands. That’d be Kiehl’s.

Kiehl’s is a skincare brand with a rich, historic legacy. Think for a second of how many businesses and brands have come and gone since 1851, when Kiehls was founded. The fact that this skincare brand has lasted for so very long speaks directly to its effectiveness. Through the years I’ve been lucky enough to try quite a few Kiehl’s products, and I’ve also been lucky enough to meet the very handsome president of Kiehl’s, Mr. Chris Salgardo — click here to follow him on Twitter!

When I met Chris we talked about our favorite Kiehl’s products (obvi) and about what makes the brand so special. Kiehls isn’t cheap, but it isn’t as expensive as high quality skincare can be. And for the money you pay, you really do get a product that works exquisitely. I’ve done quite a few reviews through the years, but let me tell you about my five favorite Kiehl’s products in 140 characters or less.

— Midnight Recovery Concentrate is everything my skin needs and more. I’m addicted to good serums and this is

— Rosa Arctica remains one of my favorite night creams ever, it smells like luxury and makes my skin feel so soft!

— I recently tried the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and it totally deserves that name! Penetrating moisture when you need it most, and without a frou-frou fragrance so the fellas will like it too.

— If you have oily skin the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser might be your new bestie. Amazonian White Clay and Diatomaceous Earth particles deal with the oil and grime so very well!

Last but not least, CREME DE CORPS. This will require more than 140 characters!

You know when your skin feels dry and thirsty in the winter months? When you can see the dryness on your legs or your arms? That’s what Creme de Corps is FOR. I use it sparingly — not just because it’s pricey, but also because it’s so rich and luxurious that you don’t need a ton of lotion to moisturize your situation. It smells divine and feels even better. And in the spirit of holiday giving, I’ve got a Kiehls Creme de Corps giveaway just for YOU!

Here’s how you can win! Leave a comment below, telling me your number one winter skin dilemma. Five lucky winners will get an 8.4 oz bottle of Creme de Corps! This contest will be open until December 27 to contestants within the US, so you have lots of time over the holiday week to enter (and hopefully win!)

Click here to follow Kiehls on Twitter, and on Facebook. Thank you for your generosity, Kiehls!

Good luck and MERRY CHRISTMAS, bellas!

PS: Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? You should!! I’ll be sending a special holiday letter and there will be special discount codes for newsletter subscribers!! Clicky click πŸ™‚

Super dry skin is my one winter skin ailment, it’s been exacerbated by my eczema and this year it’s been the worst ever. I’m looking for any thick, super-moisturizing product to help.

I’ve recently had an eczema breakout and that’s a huge challenge for winter skin! Would love this Creme de Corps…

My number one winter skin dilemma is dry, ITCHY skin. OMG. And I have ZERO shame about scratching! So afrobella girl, PLEASE hook me up with this Creme de Corps so I can stop walking around my office scratching under my boobs and rubbing up against corners trying to soothe my itchy back. Girl, please.

#1 winter dilema: I have eczema & it angrily gets itchy during the winter months.

  6. Lisa morales

During winter weather my scalp can get very dry. As long as I wear lotion or body oil my skin stays moisturizered but if I don’t use something I can get dry patches & feel itchy:0( luv your bog btw

  7. Kay

My skin is so dry in the winter. It takes several products and I still look like a cracked painting with ash.

  8. TanyaJ

    at

My problem in the winter time is maintaining moisture in my skin. As a dark skin woman, when my skin gets dry, it shows prominently lol. I find myself bathing in lotions and oils after I shower to moisturize my skin but within a few hours, my skin is itchy and dry. To add to that, my skin is very sensitive and I have to be careful what I use.

  9. Jay Cee

    at

My #1 winter issue is keeping my skin moisturized. I have tried just about everything. The only thing that works for me is a combo of baby oil and vaseline.

  10. Sharyn Felton

    at

My #1 winter skin dilemma is DRY arms, legs and my back. There is not enough lotion to get these parts moisturized for the harsh winter. From what I heard about Creme de Corps, this thick creamy lotion could be the cure I’m looking for.

  11. San D

Cracked hands and fingers – yes the skin around my fingers also cracks and is painful during extreme winter.

  12. LocalCeleb

My greatest winter dry skin dilemma is dry legs and elbows, I don’t know why, but after a day of work and heading to the gym, I am in dire need of moisture replenishment! These products look and I’m sure feel divine.

  13. Kahindo

I received a sample of this in a gift bag and it seriously felt like butter and just smoothed out my really dry flaky skin. I luv Kiel products

  14. Kimberly R.

My #1 issue is ridiculously dry skin!

  15. Quianah U.

    at

My number one issue is my dry scalp! This might be because I don’t drink enough water. Or maybe I’m not using the right mix of products but it drives me crazy every year. I started getting steam treatments so that helps some but without fail, a week later my scalp starts giving me the “cold shoulder”. I’ve heard about Kiehl’s and always wanted to try their products so hopefully now is the time!

  16. Kristian

My skin dilemma is dryness and random acne during winter.

  17. BK

    at

random dry patches now that I’m running outside more frequently. I use Kiehl’s midnight recovery & the avocado eye cream.. love them!!! my moisturizer is also by kiehl’s.. love their products! I have yet to try this one though..

  18. Darlene

My entire family uses and loves the creme de corps. My son plays winter sports and uses it on his hands before his games. If its not Kiehls I have to reapply lotion at least 5 times a day. My daughter has extremey sensitive hard that turn red and become irritated. The creme de corps soothes them. We’d love to win a bottle.

  19. Alex

Ashy lips, elbows, hands, feet, and knees!

My biggest winter skin dilemma is finding a moisturizer that deals with both oily skin and good moisturization.

  21. Liz

    at

My number one winter skin dilemma is usually crusty hand-webs. That skin between my thumb and index finger–and all my other fingers for that matter–stays perpetually ashy–no matter how many times I apply lotion. Sigh–shall I bathe in hot Crisco shortening? Better yet–Maybe I’ll be A lucky winner! πŸ™‚

Has to be dry skin and lips

    Happy holidays!

  23. F. Alexis

Dry skin thanks to the frigid weather in Toronto. Going out into the cold & rushing indoors does a number on my skin every year. Maybe Kiehl’s will make a difference, because I’ve tried oils, creams and serums, in addition to increasing my water intake.

  24. Michelle G

    at

I deal with serious dry skin during the winter. Try as I might to keep areas of my face moisturized the frigid air is no help.

  25. MsFarrah27

HARD WATER is my number one winter skin (and summer skin) issue. OMG! Moving to Florida has been great but living without a water softening system is horrible on the body.

  30. Nella Ocal

My problem with skin is that i have combination type of skin , some of part very dry and T-zone is oily . i use oil free cream for my face but still i have break-outs sometimes . and other problems are pores and mini wrinkles πŸ™‚

  33. Wendy

My number one skin problem like all the other ladies here is dry skin. My hands are the main problem. I feel like I have to put on lotion every 20 minutes. It doesn’t help that I live in the extra cold city of Chicago.

  37. Laquita

    at

Dry skin is also my number one problem in the winter months – I have combination skin and as soon as the colder months come the dry portions get drier :o(

  38. ChrsLvsBks

    at

Skin that dries as soon as a moisturizer is applied is numero uno for me especially in the winter. I have tried vegetable glycerin, coconut oil, lotions for advanced healing and severly dry skin as well as the beloved shea butter. Nothing keeps in moisture (and I drink plenty of water).

  39. Krystal

    at

My winter skin dilemma isn’t necessarily eczema. But I am itching, it seems from head to toe from the cold wind, stockings, tights and socks.

  40. goldenstar

#1 winter skin dilemma: Chicago winter + heat, heat, dry heat + soap makes for some thirsty and distressed skin. It dries, it cracks, and it rebels!

  41. Sharon

    at

Dry flaky skin. I use moisturizer constantly!

  42. Leslie

    at

#1 Winter skin dilemma is my feet, as if they were not already a travesty, winter just makes them worse not matter what I do – including oiling them at night, wrapping them in cling wrap, and sleeping in socks! My hands don’t even qualify as a second place, because they just catch heck between the heat in my condo, the harsh soap at work, and the lotion that I put on that never seems to keep my skin moisturized! HELP!!!

my skin is super dry in the winter. the winter is about the only time my exzema comes around

  51. Amanda Gray-Williams

    at

Like many others, i too suffer from dry skin, but the WORST part is when my skin begins to chap and flake in areas on the side of my nose and in between my eyebrows! It is the worst, and I am constantly trying to find the perfect product to apply to those areas. I also feel like my body skin doesn’t stay moisturized as long as it should, even when I am applying shea or mango butter!! Ugh to the cold weather!!

  52. Ariel

    at

My number 1 enemy during the winter is dry skin all over my body. If I miss one day of moisturizing, game over. By the way, I LOVE your blog. Merry Christmas!

  53. Nicole Howard

    at

I have dry skin year round, but it just seems to get out of control during winter months. This is especially true of my decolletage. It gets really dry, itchy, and flakes like crazy…not cute AT ALL :-). I’ve tried several products and have been to three dermatologists, but can’t seem to find any product that works. Nothing seems to moisturize enough. I’ve heard others like you rave about Creme de Corps and would like to give it a try, so that I can finally get some relief!!

  54. HarrietLaJade

    at

I just moved to Columbus, OH from Miami, FL. So this is my first “real” winter. Already my favorite lotions are failing me! I’m the type of woman who must moisturize from head-to-toe immediately out of the shower. But here in Columbus, before I’ve even dabbed away all of the water from the shower, I notice my skin drying up! I’d so love to try Kiehl’s Creme de Corps!

  55. Charisse H

    at

My number one winter skin dilemma is having Dry Skin. Every year for the past four years, I have had a patch of dry skin on my wrists. It seems like every year it gets worse. My skin is starting to look like I have eczema. Nothing seems to work on my wrists.

  56. Arnethia

    at

Dry skin is my #1 skin problem! I have tried many products, but still find myself putting on more and more lotion just to stay moisturized. :-/ the transition from summertime in Chicago to winter is very rough on my skin! I need help!!

  57. anna

my skin gets red and peels during winter time. i try to moisturize as much as i can during cold winter months

  59. kisha

My number one concern during winter HAS to be my ASHY legs! I can exfoliate and moisturize until the cows come home, but by the end of the day, my legs look like I’ve been marinating in baby powder soup. I wonder if this product would help?

  68. Ollie Moss

My number one skin dilemma in the winter is dry, blotchy skin. It’s not dry all over, but only in certain areas, especially on my face. And that can be very frustrating!

  70. MJ

    at

My number one winter skin dilemma is definitely dry, itchy skin. I’ve tried a plethora of drug store moisturizers that have provided little or no relief. I’d absolutely LOVE to try Kiehls!

  71. Qiana Lawery

    at

I’m a Chicagoan, so our winters are notoriously difficult…although this year seems mild (fingers crossed). My #1 skin issue in the winter is my dry feet. No matter how much I exfoliate or the amount shea butter I slather on, my feet remain dry and sometimes peel in the winter. I’d love to try Kiehls – I’ve been reading & hearing about it for years, but never made the splurge!

  72. Lauren D

    at

during the winter my skin especially my legs get extremely dry. So dry it looks as if my skin is about to crack. I have tried different soaps, butters and all sorts of things, but I do not like my legs during the winter. I have to keep them super moisturized so they look half way decent. I follow Kiehls on facebook because my husband is a fan of them so I’m hoping I win and can try this product out

  73. Timeisha

    at

my dilemma is dry skin! i have oily skin, but with using heaters in the car and at work to stay warm, its a problem keeping my skin hydrated from the inside out. i’ve been trying to drink lots of water, but my skin tends to still get oily although it feels very dry & flaky in certain areas πŸ™

  74. Monique

    at

    Hello,

I have very dry skin during the winter months and it is a nighmare. Thanks for the giveaway. I am following Kiehl’s and you on FB as Monique Jones and both of you guys on Twitter as Jesusismygrace

    Happy Holidays

  75. Lisa

    at

Number 1 skin dilemma is dry skin. I start off in the morning fine…after shower douse with oil, follow-up with shea butter on the feet. By the time 5pm rolls around, I’m tight and itchy … especially my legs!

  76. ChocolateOrchid

    at

My number one winter skin dilemma is dry skin. Seems like I start drying up on queue with the fall colors coming out on the trees.

  77. Melanie

    at

My #1 winter skin dilemma is the dry patches that just pop up everywhere. I apply baby oil right after a shower and try to exfoliate, but no dice. All I get are these dry patches that itch and make me self conscience.

  78. Queen Eye Cee

    at

Beiny that I’m subconscious about having dry ashy skin during the winter season, I have a tendency to apply to much oil to my skin , thus resulting in overly oily skin..

  79. Cosmolude

    at

My #1 skin dilemma is breakouts. Seems like around fall/winter, my skin gets unhappy about seasonal change and my breakouts are more severe and occur more frequently. When I finally get the acne to clear up, I usually have spots of hyper-pigmentation left behind πŸ™

  80. Melissa

    at

My biggest skin problem is the area from the knees to toes. It’s enough that when the weather dips below 60, that area becomes one big moisture suck but oooh boy, the cold weather wear ends all chances of normalcy. Long johns. Tights. Thick socks. Boots. You get the picture. I look for anything I can use that will bring in the moisture. I’d love to win for another weapon in my winter war.

  81. ichoosethesun

    at

My biggest winter skin issue is dry, flaky skin particularly on my legs πŸ™

  82. Lacoya (thesupercoya)

    at

My biggest winter skin problem is my thighs. For some reason, they get EXTREMELY itchy in the winter time, and I think it’s because I do not regularly lotion my body up ALL of the time, and when I do, I try to steer clear of the upper thigh area because I do not like for that area to be moist alot.

  83. Tasasha

    at

Dry and flakey skin is my biggest winter problem. I always have to triple moisturize my face. I’ve always wanted to try Kiehls, so hopefully I can win this contest!

  84. Joann Matthews

    at

I have tried just about everything for my skin. Nothing seems to work. I found your website through the December issue of Ebony in which you were listed as a part of the Power 100. I really want to find products not only for me but also for my bi-racial granddaughter. For example, can you recommend a good brush for her long, thick, curly hair? I am going natural and am looking for a product that does not dry my hair out but doesn’t leave it looking “wet” either. Looking for your recommendations and expertise. Thank you for considering me.

  85. Tiffane

    at

    Thanks for the contest offer!

My #1 winter enemy is dry hands. As I do throughout the year, my hands get washed a lot. But during the winter, they need extra attention. They actually hurt and crack at the creases if they’re not moisturized enough. And regular lotion doesn’t do the trick. Shea butter is great, but you have to wait until it absorbs before you tough anything. I’d love to win this contest and try this world-famous product!

  86. Andrea Jackson

My number one skin dilemma is dry skin but specifically on my outer thighs/hips. it’s worse in the winter but they are problem areas for me all year.

My number one winter skin dilemma is dry, flaky skin. I have tried some many different products but nothing seems to do the trick.

  90. Nikita Harris

    at

My #1 skin dilemma would have to be dry skin that shows. The most dry are my hands. I have to apply lotion to them throughout the day. Even though I apply lotion to other areas of my body as well, my skin is dry again in only hours. I guess I haven’t found the product that’ll do the trick yet.

  91. Jennifer

Dry skin, especially on my face.

  92. Nicole

My skin dilemma during the winter months is multiple dry spots on my arms and back. I also tend to have rough skin on my feet due to wearing nothing, but boots during the winter months…

I always have dry skin and in the winter its worse. the frequent handwashing (like 30 times in a 12 hour shift) requires by my job leave my hands a cracked, parched mess. I’m a resident physician in emergency medicine (read: not making much money lol) and I love taking care of my patients on what is often a scary, troubling time in their lives. I need to take better care of myself starting with my skin. My whole body is thirsty looking πŸ™‚ and Id love to try Kiehl’s. ive heard good things about creme de corp! maybe i can stop being embarrased when i examine my patients lol!

  94. Yolanda James

    at

I’ve heard great things about Kiehl’s products over the years, and would love to try them on my skin. Like so many others, my #1 issue is dry skin. I’ve moved from Atlanta to Baltimore and now back again….and my work/life balance is not where it should be. I’m desparately seeking a solution solution to skin that’s dry one day, then combination of oily and dry the next. Also, I have hyperpigmentation. So come on, Afrobella and Kiehl’s! Help me, help me!

  95. Lakitha

My number one winter skin issue is flakiness. The skin on legs and forearms gets flaky and scaly. Takes a lot to keep it moisturized. Coconut oil works, but only for a few hours.

  99. Vanessa T

  100. Jamyra M

My biggest winter problem is dry skin and extremely dry, flaky, chapped lips. I like to wear lipstick and that tends to make my lips even drier. I have a sample of Kiehls lip balm and its has worked wonders for my lips! I would love to try the Creme de corps because its not something I could normally splurge money on. Please help Afrobella. My dry skin will thank you!

  108. NessieN.

While my oily face looks forward to those winter months (I’m not as oily in the winter), my hands, legs and feet are not so inviting. My number one challenge would be dry, parched skin. No matter how much lotion I slather on, it tends to disipate within a matter of seconds.

  109. Brandy

Thanks for the giveaway Afrobella. My #1 dry skin dilemma is my dry cheeks. I have very dry skin and the winter months are very harsh on my face. I usually use cocoa butter but lately it is not working. I must tell you there are times when my cheeks look like they are going to crack. I am desperately in need of a new moisturizer.

    Thanks
