I joined Instagram on September 28. Just two weeks ago. On October 1 the good folks of Instagram allowed me to have my official trademarked name on there. You can find me on Instagram now @afrobella, and while we’re discussing that please allow me to make a confession. My name is @afrobella and I’m addicted to Instagram.

I’m part of the Windows Champions program. My phone is a Windows Phone. Separately from that, I was given an incredible Dell XPS laptop computer that I’m now obsessed with. But Instagram is designed for Apple products and for Android phones, so I was out of luck and out of the loop for the time being. And I’ll admit, I FELT out of the loop. I’ll tell you exactly when it happened. When you’re a blogger at fashion week and everyone is Instagramming everything and you can’t even see what they’re posting…you start feeling that FOMO setting in. It all kicked in for me this past September.

Now, thanks to Target’s Inner Circle, I’m the proud and happy owner of an iPad and I’m a new Instagram addict. I totally get what this guy meant in his Instagram I Love You video now. “Instagram is pure. Just the good stuff.” I get it.

Because I’m so new I just wanna post post post instead of post one picture and then chill. But I’ll work it out.

So what’s my theme? I don’t really have one. I’m using Instagram to share things I experience in real time as well as photos I didn’t have a place to share before. Like photos from my trip home to Trinidad in January. Or old family photos. Or random celebrities I’ve met in the course of life’s little adventures. Or the latest makeup, skincare, jewelry or hair products that are rocking my world. It’s a chance for me to share glimpses into my life. And it’s only been two weeks but it seems to me like you learn more about someone through Instagram than other social media sites, in a way. You get a quick visual overview of their interests, their upbringing, their diet, their sexual appetites, what makes them tick, what they see. What they want you to see. It’s fun and fascinating and fast. I get what everyone’s been talking about, finally. I can’t wait for it to come to the new Windows Phone! My fingers are crossed.

I absolutely LOVE instagram. I was on it for a while, but never posted pictures. Then I "got my followers" up and started following veterans and began to understand how it worked. I actually like Instagram out of ALL of my social media pages. I go back and forth between following celebs and regular people. But it's almost like twitter I don't follow people who a. hardly post photos at all or b. post too many (I used to follow a girl who unloaded her whole photo album every #tbt-- had to unfollow). It's a delicate balance between posting too much/not enough. I'll tell you who has PERFECTED the Instagram game BAR NONE- and that is Mother June Ambrose. Man, listen she gets it right (but can she do anything wrong?). I LOVE following her. Her pictures and finds are so fab. You get a glimpse of her "mommy life"...her fashion life...her stylist life...her cooking with her children...it's everything! Her handle is JuneAmbrose Mine is windycity_peach (same as on twitter). I've been an Instagram addict (@ConsiderMeLovely) for a couple of years now, and it is my favorite along with Twitter! I love seeing parts of people's daily lives and making new pals on there. I also find it to be a great way of sharing my blog content.

Twitter is my number 1. I am on instagram ( @SoFotolushes ) its only on my ipod so I dont get to post to my hearts content but as soon as I get my new phone things will change. I just wish I was not so camera shy though.

I just got an Instagram account, only because EVERYONE seems to have one. I don't get it. Can someone explain why it's better than posting pictures to Facebook? I was bummed to find out that I have to download another app to get all of those cool effects that I see on my friends pictures, like collage and different frames. And they are still using Instagram to post pictures to Facebook!! I don't get it. Can someone enlighten me? :) By the way I am @gratituderising on Twitter and @gratefuldiva on Instagram.

I, too, am hooked on Instagram! You get a Facebook status update, tweet and a visiual all in an instant! I have had to un-follow some folks because I can only take so many drunk/liquor pics (LOL). As one of the previous commentors stated, I love June Ambrose, too. Her posts give an inspirational glimpse into her professional and home life. I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something to maybe get a person's attention? I mean Addicted to Instagram | Afrobella is kinda boring. You might look at Yahoo's front page and note how they create news titles to grab people to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to grab readers excited about everything've got to say. In my opinion, it would make your website a little bit more interesting.
