Beat the Summer Heat Thanks To Sam Fine and Cover Girl!

by afrobella

Aloha bellas! Summer’s in full effect and sizzling temperatures are the order of the day. How do you make your makeup last all day through the summer heat? That was my question for Mr. Sam Fine — amazing celebrity makeup artist, witty gentleman, and dare I say friend o’ mine? Sam came up with special custom face charts to go with the looks I asked about, just for Afrobella.com! How awesome is THAT?

The Summer Heat look by Sam Fine for Cover Girl

If you click here to read our original Cover Girl makeup feature — which includes three Cover Girl summer makeup looks BTW! — you’ll see the origins of Summer Heat, Eternal Summer, and Summer Fierce.

To create the look you see here, I used the following products:

a. QC Natural Hue Minerals Pressed Powder to take coverage down one step

b. QC Natural Hue Bronzer because it bakes in beautifully

c. LiquiLineBlast Eye Liner on the lash line

d. QC Lip Color in Berry Bling (but you can use whatever vibrant color you like!)

and e – not shown, but I used Cover Girl’s Lash Blast mascara, too!

Click here to shop Cover Girl on Drugstore.com.

And this is Summer Heat after being outside for a few hours.

That's how I beat the Summer Heat!

What do you think, bellas? Is this a look you’d rock too? Let me know!

Great article Afrobella. I have Mr. Fine’s beauty book (in hardback) FINE Beauty that I purchased about 6 years ago. Love it!

P.S. I sent you an email a while back to say hey fellow Chicagoan. I also saw your video re satin bonnet struggles. Have you ever tried the Scuuni knit hair srunchies? They’re 6 to a pack (I bought two packs). I section off hair and place a scrunchy over each (do not double wind) and I have about 5 or 6. My hair may be a little thicker (4a) but it’s about your length and it works wonders…no more matted/shrunken hair. I gently take off before the shower and voila, hair that’s stretched but with it’s various curls, coils, waves! My original braid-out lasts up until my next weekly wash–yeah. Method is called pineappling for short hair (you can do a Youtube search). Hope this helps you!
