I Love Queen Latifah’s GRAMMY Makeup! Sam Fine Spills The Details

by afrobella

A little backstory before the post:

About a week ago, I was in Los Angeles on an assignment and I had the good fortune of going backstage to a taping of The Queen Latifah Show. I went to visit my friend, celebrity makeup artist and beauty influencer Sam Fine — he’s Queen Latifah’s official makeup artist! It was such a great day to stop by, because Jacqueline Bissett and Lupita Nyong’o were Queen Latifah’s guests! YES. I was within mere feet of Lupita. She is petite and gorgeous and just as stunning in person.

Queen Latifah Lupita Nyongo

It was quite a lovely interview between two women I admire. I was so happy to be there for their moment!

I wanted to meet Lupita but I was too shy. I also wanted to meet Queen Latifah (she said hi at one point but had to go on stage right then so it wasn’t a good time to be like OMGI’VEBEENAFANMYWHOLELIFE) – but there will be a next time for those opportunities, I know there will! And I got to meet Queen Latifah’s amazing stylist Timothy Snell, and say hello to my friend Ted Gibson who was backstage with Team Lupita (creating those super cool hairstyles)! It was such a great afternoon.

While I was at the show taping, Sam and Queen did a COVERGIRL beauty segment and it was really cool to see the time lapse video of Sam creating Queen Latifah’s signature beautiful and polished look.

He also briefly discussed amping up her look for evening with a dark lip. I sat there in the audience like YASSSSSSSSS because I am HERE for a dark lip and always have been. Look!

Queen Latifah looks SO fly with a deep merlot lip color. I knew I had to get the details when I saw her step on the stage at the GRAMMY Awards wearing the same kind of look, to marry 34 couples while Mary Lambert, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed their hit song Same Love.

Queen Latifah GRAMMYs COVERGIRL Sam Fine Makeup

My friends at COVERGIRL and Sam Fine sent the full breakdown on Queen Latifah’s elegant, gorgeous look – of course using all COVERGIRL and many of her own Queen Collection products. Finally I know exactly what that lip color is! Take it away, Sam!

COVERGIRL Queen Latifah GRAMMY Beauty Look by Sam Fine

The inspiration for the beauty look all begins with the dress… and Queen Latifah’s request to look elegant, simple and chic!

Every look begins with flawless skin – beautiful coverage and a gorgeous glow! I used a synthetic foundation brush to gently apply COVERGIRL Queen Collection All Day Flawless Foundation. This long-lasting formula fuses foundation, concealer and powder in one easy step! It was perfect for an evening of red carpet interviews, her groundbreaking on-stage performance and after parties.

After applying foundation, I dabbed a bit of COVERGIRL truMAGIC Skin Perfector along the bridge of the nose, crest of the cheeks and along the collarbone to highlight her golden skintone.  I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lasting Matte Pressed Powder to set underneath the eyes and the center of the face, and then applied my favorite bronzer, COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer, near the outer perimeter of the face for glowing results.

A clean eye doesn’t mean that I don’t use eye shadow; it simply means I used natural looking shades to enhance her eyes. Using my index finger, I applied COVERGIRL Bombshell Intensity in Pitch Black Passion over the entire eye to add a shimmering effect. Then, I applied COVERGIRL Bombshell Intensity in Pitch Black Passion closest to the lashline, extending it at the outer corner to lift the eye. Lastly, I applied individual lashes and few coats of COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume Mascara in Very Black for added drama.

A deep colored lip always looks elegant and chic, so I chose COVERGIRL Queen Collection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Soaked In Wine (Q850) for an effortless finish!

Thanks for the insider info, Sam and COVERGIRL!

You can follow Sam on Twitter @SamFineBeauty and on Instagram @IAmSamFine, you can follow Queen Latifah @IAmQueenLatifah on Twitter, and COVERGIRL @COVERGIRL. I need that Soaked in Wine Jumbo Gloss Balm in my LIFE!

Whether you are writing a blog post title, preparing a tweet, or thinking of a Facebook post, create titles that are interesting, and make readers unable to resist clicking to your site or blog.
Using this method can help you gain customers from around the world.
With Google having such a strong influence on how consumers
research and shop for products on the internet, local businesses and online entrepreneurs should adhere to what Google advises us to follow in regards to
high rankings in the search engines. Social Networking facilitates meeting
people for expanding business networking and marketing, asking for advice or referrals and doing online marketing more intensely.

A Google Authorship shows local authority or authority within a niche
or industry. I tried my very best to make this post meaningful and easy for the
readers. In the past, having a website is sufficient for a
business to take the lead over others. In
the modern times, it takes more just to get noticed.
But to keep the discussions going it is important that you get involved with those
discussions. Tap right into what people around you want to
have, or whatever they secretly wish to know in relation to art.

Kids would hook their record players up to these light boxes,
which looked a bit like speakers, but they had little colored

always a good choice for business. Many discarded are well
kept glasses that people are simply tired of wearing or they no longer need them.

Body scrubs are one of the easiest homemade beauty products to
make. It might just be a case of trial and error, if nothing seems to work speak to your dermatologist for any advice
or try a different acne skin care product. It becomes difficult to
treat these scars and therefore acne must be treated with the help of oral drugs and topical creams and lotions.
