Hero Products – Check Out Clinique’s Best Sellers

by afrobella

Every brand has them – the best sellers, the tried-and-true items, the products they’ve been making for the longest because the people keep coming back for more. In the biz they’re known as hero products, and beauty brands strive to cultivate and maintain them. What makes a product a hero product? Consistency. Quality. It has to be a product that is timeless, not trendy. In terms of beauty, makeup and hair, these would be the all-star products you should consider first in case you were considering what to buy or try. Allow me to demystify some of the most popular beauty brands in the world.

First up, Clinique!

HERO (2)

Clinique is one of those longtime department store beauty brands that’s really best known for high quality skincare. Lately I’ve been impressed with their makeup – did you know their foundation came in 20 shades? It does, and I love the finish and coverage! It’s one of their hero products. Here are some fun facts about the top products by this beloved brand, so you’ll know what to buy next time you visit their site or breeze by their counter.

Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder Clinique

Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder – A summer essential for those of us blessed with oily skin! Clinique’s product technology combines hollow beads intended to absorb oil, and “ultrafine processing” that makes for a product that is translucent, sheer, silky but not chalky. It comes in 12 shades, from Invisible Matte to Stay Sienna.

clinique-almost-lipstick-in-black-honey

Almost Lipstick, Black Honey  — if you know anything about any Clinique product, I’m gonna wager it’s the eternally popular Black Honey. Black Honey Almost Lipstick was the top selling lipstick shade in US department stores when it made its debut in 1971, and it’s remained a best seller pretty much ever since. The Almost Lipstick sheerness and moisture makes for an iconic product. Not quite lipstick, more than gloss. On me it’s super sheer, just a deep berry stain that compliments my natural lip color. I wear it alone or over a lip pencil. Still favored, still in high demand, still gorgeous.

Clinique-Beyond-Perfecting-foundation

Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer – this 2-in-1 liquid comes in 20 shades, from Alabaster to Clove. It gives full coverage but feels incredibly lightweight. You can use it all over or as a spot treatment where you need a little extra camouflage. Plus it has “dual-sphere” particles that either absorb excess oil, or add hydration. Win win! My perfect shade is a blend of Golden and Nutty.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ — You can’t find the perfect daytime moisturizer, you say? Maybe you haven’t yet given Clinique a try. The current formula for their Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + took 3 formulating dermatologists, 53 researchers and 100 formula trials – finally this is it. It was tested by over 1600 women of different ethnicities across 5 countries. This formula is all about barrier repair and moisturizing. Ingredients like urea, glycerin and hyaluronic acid come together to deliver the goods – light, lasting, silky soft moisture without an extra drop of oil. And PS: there’s also a gel!

Clinique Hero Products

So if you don’t know, now you know! Are any of these your favorite Clinique products? What are your must-haves?

This one is also a candidate for testing. I have found some items at Black Radiance that could be its rival. Or better accompanied by clinique. There is no way harm to mix, right?

Black Honey is great, but I always feel like it’s not quite “there enough.” Enter, Clinique’s Long Last lipstick in Black Violet. Very much like Black Honey, but with more depth of color. Gorgeous, gorgeous. My everyday go-to lippie.
