Here’s what they don’t tell you about awards season in Hollywood…it’s more than just one glamorous night down the red carpet. For example, the Academy Awards are on Sunday night, but every single night of the week before that, there are parties and glamorous dinners and events where tributes are being paid and awards are being handed out. There’s a lot going on.
This is me, ready for a recent fabulous event in Los Angeles! I’m wearing a dress by Sofistafunk, necklace by Nina Nguyen and the fabulous R.J Graziano “Star Attraction” earrings. LOVE.
The celebs walking down the red carpet need to look flawless. Gorgeous. They’re taking a ton of photos from every angle. There’s a lot to consider! The latest products sent to the Glam Beauty Board are all about the 2013 award show season and what you might need for your own red carpet fabulous events.
Let me break it all down for you by necessity!
#1 – Killer smile. Any walk down the red carpet means lots of flashbulbs popping and photos being taken. That means your smile needs to be on point! And that’s where Rembrandt Deeply White products come in. I’m a fan of the Peroxide Mouthwash – my mom always taught us to use peroxide for teeth whitening and this is a much safer and yummier way to get the effect. The toothpaste in Fresh Mint is also super refreshing. Super white teeth and minty breath are a must for social events anyway, but especially when the camera phones are flashing!
#2 – Eyes ready to SMIZE. Thank you Tyra Banks for teaching the world how to turn it on for the camera! I love intense eye makeup for red carpet events, and every woman you see in those Fashion Police videos post-Oscar will be rocking sick false lashes. I’m excited to try out the KHROMA Beauty Lash Dash Faux Lashes, sidelong glance set - they’re soft but long, which makes for gorgeousness. You know the Kardashians know a thing or three about red carpet glam.
#3 – Clear, beautiful skin. SO. IMPORTANT. Makeup can cover dark under eye circles and hyperpigmentation, but if your skin is rough, there’s nothing that can cover it up. Before red carpet events, many celebs get chemical peels or fancy facials or injectables. For a safer at home alternative, I’m trying AHA Brazilian Peel to remove all flaky dead skin. It promises to brighten, tone, and leave your skin looking and feeling smooth.
#4 – An outfit that doesn’t reveal more than you intend, and accessories to DIE for. This year on the Grammy red carpet, a new rule was put in place and women were asked to cover up the cleavage! This resulted in many strategically place mesh panels, and undoubtedly much use of Hollywood Fashion Tape. 36 strips that will ensure there isn’t a nip slip!
And at the end of it all #5 – Effective makeup removal ASAP! After rocking all that primer and foundation and powder all day, your skin needs to BREATHE. And if you’re like me and the red carpet makes you tired, then you need a good wipe to cleanse all of that off your face. I absolutely love the concept behind Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes – they include gentle, effective ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber, and even BETTER, purchases benefit the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Polar Bear SOS initiative. Save the polar bears!
And those are the products that are perfect for the red carpet, according to the Glam Beauty Board!
